Totally agree. If you're still legally married you are not single.

I don't agree. For me my boyfriend was single when he was still married, but officially seperated. The divorce took forever and now that he finally is officially divorced I don't feel any different than I did before because I knew it was only a matter of time. A good friend told him he needs to rush the divorce because he is with me, but I never felt like that. To me it matters who your heart is with and not any legal contracts.

My status has remained unchanged since I was 18, actually. lol

I spent 23 years with someone. It was a far from perfect relationship and the last few years were fairly empty but it "worked" and I was loyal to a fault so I stuck with it. I finally ended it early this year.

..and immediately have been dating someone new for the last 3 months. He is wonderful, kind, smart and makes me incredibly happy. I can see the possibility of having a really great future together but it also makes me a bit sad that I may be too old to get to spend another 23 years with someone.
