I think I'm obsessed with music.

40 hours of volunteer work are, unfortunately, a requirement in school. So today, I went off to volunteer at one school and help around with whatever fuckery they where doing. As impulse, and hoping I could sneak past my folks, I brought my headphones with me and began to leave. Until, of course, I was stopped just before I left, and told, "You shouldn't bring that, you want to look professional."

Angered and disgruntled (nah, not really lol), I left the house, musicless. That's when I realized I must be obsessed with music. The sound of cars and general outside noise was a sound I was unfamiliar with. The animal noises almost sounded new to me, it was something I wasn't used to lol. I began to walk very fast and my head began to spin, all while I was going through Hendrix songs in my head. It felt like I was on some muphukking trip or some shit, cause I couldn't think straight and I thought I was gonna collapse. And those headphones were on my mind the whole time.

Even now I'm not listening to music and still singing songs in my head. Whenever I'm out of the house, I need music to listen to or nothing is right. Does that sound a bit obsessive? lol

Nah I got that same problem. I've heard music so much in my 28 years of living that if I don't hear it, I think something's wrong. Shit music puts me to sleep, wakes me up and helps the day to go by faster than it would if I didn't have music on. I need that shit to breathe partially. lol

I completely agree with that. When I'm stressed, unhappy, whatever, with that tight feeling in my chest or shoulders, some good music is like taking a big, relaxing breath.

All of you take a backseat to that guy who had magnets implanted under his skin so he could have his iPod with him all the time, yet keep his hands free to color tattoos on people.

Meh, there's always some outliers.

I used to be like that, but I don't really need it around me constantly. I have it in my head, I make music out of chewing my food. I enjoy listening to sounds, but of course I am also super annoyed and distracted by sounds that I DON'T want to hear.

But no, I don't have music going right now, I am listening to the tapping of the keys and the drone of the refrigerator.

I walk around town with my IPod. I see nothing wrong with it, just enjoying some music. In fact I'm listening to Dinner With Gershwin as I type this lol

I was exactly like you in my teen years through mid 20's, had headphones with me all the time and music in my head. Though I still love music, I appreciate silence again now, at the tender age of 29.

I was serious and still have fears, cause I felt like music gave me the high prayers gave other people a high, even if being a believer and feel so bad lol though I tell myself it could be worse or could just mean I'm meant to explore my inner music lol

Did I tell you about the time I stuck a "God Loves the Whole World" sticker up in my room while cleaning up? It's kind of encouraging, and shuts my mind up from those worries lol
