Anyone in the US seen the '24 Hour Party People' movie yet?

It's just come out on DVD here in the UK and I was wondering if it had got over the Atlantic yet and what you guys thought of it? In case you didn't know, it's the tale of Factory records, home to Joy Division, New Order and Happy Mondays.

Well folks?

TRON

I really want to see it but still haven't yet. Joy Division and New Order are 2 of my favorite bands. It'll be awesome to see a movie portraying them.

I rented it last week here in Los Angeles. It's very British. I guess I don't understand all of the humour and references, but New Order and Joy Division are two bands I've always loved.

I'd better warn you, Tron. It's more the story of Factory records and the men behind it. JD and NO don't hog the screen, although they are in it a lot. The guy who plays Ian Curtis just gets his whole stage presence perfectly. It's uncanny.

Nearly all the cast are British comedy actors, and it is played for laughs a lot of the time but any tale of a record label inspired by punk but founded by a pretentious local TV presenter and his pot-smoking buddies has to be pretty darn funny!
