I tend to gravitate towards older actresses, so I think my list would be:

3. Jennifer Lewis

4. Phylicia Rashad

5. Angela Bassett

6. Goldie Hawn

7. Bette Midler

8. Sally Field

9. Loretta Devine

10.Ruby Dee

These 10 women, hands down, I see any film they're in without a second thought. Kinda like the way I would buy a Sade album without even thinking twice about the purchase. As an honorable mention I'd add any comedic work done by Meryl Streep, and I'm very happy to see that Cicely Tyson is back out there doing her ting for the last few years as well. These two ladies are Queens in my book.

Yeah! She's one of my favorites, too. She and Whoop are good friends I think. They played in Sister Act together, right?

Jennifer seems to be cast more as a character actress. She always seems to get the rolls for strong, "take no shit" woman/mothers. She was funny as hell in "Not Easily Broken" as the meddling mother-in-law.

Most def she was robbed in Color Purple and IMO she is robbed again in Colored Girls. She isn't the star but she, Thandi, and Anika tug at the heart strings. Lord why did my cutie Khalil Kain from Juice have to play that role! Bad enough my other cutie Michael Ealy did what he did.
