thing is, tesla had enough sense to shut the project down, because he knew it was potentially extremely destructive. on the other hand, he was working on it because a planet-wide system of HAARP arrays could work to generate an artifical magnetosphere to protect the planet, to shoot down asteroids, and serve as defense against enemy weaponry.
IF it were applied conservatively HAARP would be cool. something to terraform other planets with. but if it's causing side effects we're not ready to use it
i don't believe it's a result of side effects - i suspect it's deliberate.
lengthy clip - probably too long for most people's attention spans as it ain't mindless tv - but fascinating. and scary. let's hope he's wrong

I've just bought a book about HAARP! Next on my list of things to do.
I know a bit about it already but I need more info on this peculiar monstrosity.
