Love it. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Life plus 99 years by Nathan Leopold, from the notorious "Leopold and Loeb" case- It's rare and hard to find- I had to pay $75 for it once I found it but well worth it! Great book!

"The Coming of Cassidy" by Clarence E. Mulford.
Mulford created the character of Hopalong Cassidy and wrote some books about him and his buddies at the Bar 20 ranch. This is the first of the series, and it is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.
Mulford may be the most entertaining writer I've ever read. You have to read every single word, or you will miss the wittiest, most poignant turns of phrase I've ever come across.
Louis L'Amour picked up the series after Mulford died (or retired, I forget which). L'Amour's Cassidy was a different character than Mulford's. L'Amour's was more Rambo-ish.
Mulford's is like a young John Wayne.

Chronic City by Jonathan Lethem. It's about people in NYC living there while a tiger is loose from the zoo. It's about a lot of other things as well, like a lover who is stranded on the space station, really good marijuana, music, the homeless, and magical chalderons that all of New York is trying to buy on Ebay.

Not a book - a play...

Awe - and beware of the book BARE TO YOU by Sylvia Day. I'm in Chapters this week and there's a discussion going on about 'Shades' and the woman behind the counters says "forget Shades, Bare To You is the real thing". So it 's cheap and I buy. I get 20 pages in and damn if it isn't 3 books of Shades condensed and rolled into one book. IDENTICAL. Same characters, similar story, same bazillionaire hook, same control issues, same sex - everything. I stopped reading after the 10th sex scene; repetition at its best and like I said only the beginning of the book. Because it was soooo similar, I checked the publishing date - to be this month - which I would guess - the author simply wanted to ride the Gray-vy train and whip it out for unsuspecting soles like me. I despise this kind of thing and for this reason alone, will never pick up another book by this author.

I just finished "How to Cool the Planet" by Jeff Goodell.
I'm just starting to read Steven Pinker's the Blank Slate. I actually had that 3rd in my queue back when I posted on this thread in early May, but I ended up kicking it to the curb for a while because I wanted something a little lighter to read.
I have the following in the queue:
