If Oklahoma can get over the Spurs' heroic spurts that they usually do as routine, Miami (or Boston) is gonna be in for a headache.

We'll see. You can't count out San Antonio's experience if this thing goes seven. Kind of hard to forget that they won 20 in a row, too. This could just be them taking a breath. If OKC can get the next one I'd be more willing to agree with you.

Lol........that is pretty easy 2 do if they go up 3-2.

Yeah. So? lol Plenty of teams come back from 3-2 to take a seven game series. I'm just saying I'll be MORE willing to think OKC can take it if they win the next one IN San Antonio.

Spurs, may be the older, more experienced team. OKC, is the younger and faster team. On top of that, when Westbrook plays unselfish basketball this enables Durant to do his thing. I don't know if OKC, will be the Spurs, but this series will go 7. OKC, getting blown out the first two games, just gives OKC, more fuel to their fire.

Dude... are you serious? So many that I can't find the answer.

Eight teams - that's right, EIGHT - have come back from 3-1.

1.1968 Boston Celtics
2.1970 LA Lakers
3.1979 Washington Bullets
4.1981 Boston Celtics
5.1995 Houston Rockets
6.1997 Miami Heat
7.2003 Detroit Pistons
8.2006 Phoenix Suns

It's not that rare for a team to come back from 3-2. Particularly if home court gets twisted.

Hells yeah. Once the Lakers were out they became the team I wanted to take the West. It just looked like the Spurs were going to be unstoppable. If the Spurs get back to playing that way it's going to be tough for OKC. But I HOPE OKC wins four in a row and takes it in six! That would definitely be the way I'd like to see the Spurs season end. lol

The thing that always separates who's going to go to the Finals and who is just here for the playoff ride is how many mistakes that team makes. Everyone would automatically think OKC will make more mistakes than the "older and experienced Spurs".

Nah man. I boled a particular number there. That's teams that have come back from down three-ONE. So many teams have come back from 3-2 that I can't even find a number, because nobody on the internet thinks it's a big deal. lol

Teams with a 3-2 lead and home court wins over 90% in the NBA. I'm not sure sure what u are talking about.

First of all, I said it happens more when one team takes away home court. Regardless...

If only eight teams have come back from three-ONE, then I would guess somewhere around 99% of all teams in history have won with that lead. So my point stands, PLENTY of teams have come back from 3-2. It's not a guaranteed win.

You have NO IDEA how long it took me to find this. You'd think it would be an easy question to answer. But noOOOOOoooo. It wasn't! lol

According to this table, if I'm reading it correctly, as of the Fall of 2011...

35 teams have come back to win a best of seven series after being down 3-2. 209 times it went the other way. About 85% of the time.

145-13 for series where the team who came back played the first game of the series at home. So like you said, about 92%.

64-22 for teams who were down 3-2 and played the first game of the series on the road. Or about 74%.

Ugh. At least I found the dang number.

Stupid Celtics! mad confused

That was some weird officiating. It seemed loose when it should have been tight and tight when it should have been loose. At least they were calling them weirdly on both teams. First time LeBron has fouled out since he joined the Heat. Crazy.

Eastern Conference Finals

Game 4

Miami Heat 91 Boston Celtics 93 Final/OT

The Boston Celtics stormed out to an early lead in this game, and the Heat looked tired and disoriented in the first half, as the Celtics had an 18 point lead at one point. But Miami stormed back in the third quarter, even taking a brief lead into the fourth quarter, thanks to some stifiling defense. But from then on it was a grindfest, with the two teams battling like two championship boxers each refusing to go down. Lebron James led the Heat with 29 points while Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 23 points and six rebounds, yet both players fouled out of the game during overtime. In the end, though, it would be Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo who carried the day for Boston, as Garnett had 17 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocked shots while Rondo had 15 points and 15 assists. Dwyane Wade had 20 points for the game but missed a game-winning three point shot in the final seconds of the game. The pressure now falls on Miami as they go back home in what is now a tight series.

Series tied at 2-2.

Celtics were lucky tonight - Wade had a great look off a bonehead move by Daniels. When will these cats learn to stop going for the fake and leaving their feet on defense?

It's been a fun playoffs so far. Now we have two Game 5s with both conferences tied!

The flopping by Parker, Ginobly and Wade in the playoffs is an embarrassment. The NBA needs 2 do something about it.

Western Conference Finals

Game 5

Oklahoma City Thunder 108 San Antonio Spurs 103

Is youth about to be served again? The San Antonio Spurs had dominated the NBA for the last month and a half, winning 20 games in a row through game two of this series, but in this game OKC came out with far more energy for longer periods of time than the Spurs. The Thunder fell behind early in the first quarter, but found their legs as the game went on, jumping out to a 14 point lead in the second quarter. The Spurs would come roaring back, taking a brief lead in the third quarter, but OKC would soom regain the lead and hold on for dear life as the Spurs made a final run in the closing minutes of the game, cutting the Thunder lead down to two points before James Hardin hit a crucial three pointer to seal the game for OKC. Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 27 points while Russell Westbrook had 23 points and 12 assists and James Hardin had 20 points. Manu Ginnobili was a monster for the Spurs, scoring 34 points while Tony Parker added 20 points and Stephen Jackson had 16 points. Tim Duncan had 18 points and 12 rebounds but got into foul trouble, and the remaining role players were virtually non-existent. San Antonio, who cam into the series looking like they were virtually unbeatable, now find themselves one loss away from having their season end.

Oklahoma City leads series 3-2.

I'm pretty sure you first called for a win by five points before game four on page 12. razz

Regardless, do you expect me to say I'm convinced now? lol Hells no I'm not! lol I'm a hardcore realist with sports. San Antonio won the first two games, they could win the last two. I'm not countin' those chickens until the eggs are fully hatched.

But I am feeling a bit more hopeful! nod This would actually end up being a decent basketball season for me if we could get OKC and Miami in the finals.

Eastern Conference Finals

Game 5

Boston Celtics 94 Miami Heat 90

Will experience triumph over youthful energy? In a game that was reminiscient of last night's Thunder/Spurs game, the Heat jumped out to an early lead much like the Spurs did 24 hours earlier, but like OKC, the Celtics weathered the early storm and came back. However, unlike the Thunder who relied on a high speed transition game to get back against the Spurs, Boston played some great defense to scratch their way back to get within two points at halftime. The Heat came storming out of the gate in the third quarter. jumping out to a nine point lead, but Boston then went on a 15-1 run to take the lead. It then was a back and forth affair down the stretch, with Kevin Garnett playing a huge game, scoring 26 points for the game and grabbing 11 rebounds, but it was some key baskets down the stretch that would prove pivotal for the Celtics, as Mickael Pietrus hit a couple of key three pointers to keep the Celtics in the hunt. Paul Pierce had 19 points for the game but struggled from the field all night, yet in the final minute he had a James Hardin-like moment and hit a monster three point shot which put the Celtics up for good.

Lebron James scored 30 points for Miami and grabbed 13 points while Dwyane Wade had 27 points, but they virtually had no help from their teammates save for a limited stretch by Chris Bosh, who returned from an abdominal injury to play some limited minutes off the bench, scoring nine points and grabbing seven rebounds in 14 minutes of action.

Will the Celtics come out like the champions of old in game six and close out this series? Or does Miami still have the energy to pull of a huge road win and force a game seven? Stay tuned....

Boston leads series 3-2.

Maybe. But Boston is definitely old. Miami should be up 3-2 or have won the series 4-1. IMO, as they're saying right now on ESPN, Doc Rivers has been the difference. He's used his pieces better, made better adjustments, than Eric Spoelstra.
