I think Miami's young legs will eventually wear Boston down.

Brandon Bass was the unsung hero for Boston in this series. He scored in double figures in all or most of the games this series. He always seemed to be at the right place at the right time. I enjoyed the Sixers run this year but they definitely have to improve the roster. They need a pure shooter for sure. Need to build around Iggy, turner, and young. Young was a big no show last night. Don't laugh at my funk

Western Conference Finals
Game 1
The final score wasn't necessarily indicative of what happened in this game, but the Oklahoma City Thunder gave the Spurs the first real challenge they have faced in these playoffs. They hung around during the first half and led by nine points by the end of the third quarter. But San Antonio stormed back in the fourth, going on an 18-3 run to take the lead for good. They were led by Manu Ginnobili, who scored 26 points and got huge contributions from Gary Neal, who hit some crucial three point shots during that run, and Stephen Jackson, who played some stifling defense on Kevn Durant, who scored 27 points for the game but was held without a field goal in the fourth quarter. The Spurs led by 10 points with just a little over a minute to go, and though OKC made a couple of three pointers and a layup during the final minute of the game, they never really threatened to retake the lead, as they had to foul down the stretch and the Spurs made their free throws. This marks the 19th consecutive victory for the Spurs going back into the regular season.
San Antonio leads series 1-0.

What a wonderful game - this will be a long series. Manu was SICK, and Jackson played some hellafied defense on KD. Spurs play ball the way it should be played. Thunder missed some looks, and they get no scoring from their bigs.

Eastern Conference Finals
Game 1
The Miami Heat broke out to a huge early lead, which many people expected due to the fact that the Celtics had just completed a very bruising seven game series, but the Celtics stormed back in the second quarter, scoring 35 points and went into halftime tied at 46 apiece. Unfortunately for Boston, the game got away from them thanks to Lebron James and Dwyane Wade and a stifling Heat defense. Lebron James exploded in the third quarter, finishing with 32 points and 13 rebounds for the game while Dwyane Wade finished with 22 points and seven assists. Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 22 points while Rajon Rondo added 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, but the ailing Paul Pierce and Ray Allen struggled from the floor all night, scoring a combined 18 points on 6 for 25 field goal shooting.

That was a pretty solid win. I didn't want to say anything until I'd seen them play each other at least once, but I really don't think Boston has enough to beat the Heat they way they're playing right now. And they certainly won't get worse when/if Bosh returns. I don't see this being a long series.

Miami can wrap this shit up in 5 if they want to. Boston looks old, slow & gassed.

Western Conference Finals
Game 2
In a frenetic and high scoring game, the San Antonio Spurs jumped out to a big early lead and pretty much hung on throughout the rest of the game, though the game went through a number of ebbs and flows, with the Spurs going on big runs and grabbing huge leads only to see OKC fight back with runs of their own. The Spurs lead by as much as 22 points in the third quarter, but the Thunder twice cut the lead down to six in the fourth. Nevertheless, OKC could get no closer, as Tony Parker had a monster game for the Spurs, scoring 34 points and dishing out eight assists. Manu Ginnobili once again had a huge game off the bench, adding 20 points while Kawhi Leonard added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 31 points while James Hardin added 30 and Russell Westbrook added 27. But in what could be a sign to come, starters Kendrick Perkins and Thabo Sefolosha were pulled from the game midway through in favor of Hardin and Derek Fisher. Whatever adjustments the Thunder are making now, they need to make them quick or else they could be bounced out of the conference finals early.
San Antonio leads series 2-0.

As the old saying goes, it's not a series until somebody loses at home. But I said a long time ago I didn't think anybody was going to beat the Spurs. I might have to amend that for the moment and say, in the West, because Miami is playing real solid right now. We'll see, but I think it's safe to say San Antonio and Miami will be seeing each other soon.

Miami is not beating San Antonio without a healthy Bosh.

U are jumping the gun. OKC will tie this series in the next 2 games.

Noooo way. Nevah. Not gonna happen.

OKC are not going out like chumps. (bulls)

They haven't shown me that they're good enough to beat San Antonio. The Spurs haven't even played a complete game yet. And they have done this little thing called winning nineteen games in a row.

Don't put any $ on that. The refs won't be so kind in OKC.

Thanfully, I don't gamble. I'm pretty sure if I did I'd have far less "stuff".

I hear ya............it is NOT 4 the faint at heart. It (gambling) has wiped a whole bunch of folks OUT.

With sports in particular, for me, it takes away some of the fun. I don't play fantasy football or get involved in office pools, either. I just want it to be about the game and the teams I like.
Seeing as how I like numbers, I do enjoy a few different poker games. But I still don't gamble with real money. Pretending the chips in the poker set have value is just fine with me.

I can see San Antonio getting a split in OKC.

That's great until u have just won, $10,000 or $100,000 in 30 seconds. Then u are hooked.

I agree here but wouldn't be surprised if OKC ties it up but Perkins needs to be more than a walking mascot on the floor. Don't laugh at my funk

I guess I'm not seein' the same thing you guys are seeing. San Antonio is one of the strongest teams I've seen in many years. And the first two games of this series were no where near their best. I see a sweep. I hope OKC can come back! If they can make it 2-2 then anything could happen in a best of three. But right now, I see a sweep.

First, I lived in South Lake Tahoe for two years and saw the sickness first hand. Saw people BARELY living paycheck to paycheck, losing their cars, homes and jobs because they couldn't stop gambling. I was still in high school, but it really turned me off gambling pretty seriously.
Second, man, I LOVE buying books, records, comics and good ingredients for cooking. That's the money I'd be gambling with and I'd rather keep it where it is.
But I get what you're saying. I've seen the hook go in, more than once.

- EXACTLY!!!!
And on another note The Nets have moved from Jersey to Brooklyn only to continue their "winning" ways.....they got the 6th pick and have to give it to Portland!!!!!!! They needed to get one of the top three spots to be able to keep the pick...........

Poor Nets - their pick goes to the TrailBlazers.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Hey! At least high profile players WANT to play in Brooklyn. Over the next two to three seasons I guarantee you they'll build a SOLID team, even if they don't get good draft picks.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
- What high profile players are you talking about? Deron Williams - the guy that wanted to become a free agent instead of sign an extention with the Nets although his arse was continuously kissed/caressed this year or Dwight Howard - the guy who signed something stating he'd stay with Orlando another year?
I'm hoping for the best but..........
