ITunes Match :: Boo! I've admittedly swallowed the Apple kool-aid, and am happy to defend the macs and I-devices in my life, but damn...iTunes Match has proven to become the bane of my once golden Apple existence! Issues: * Uploading songs to the cloud is ridiculously time-consuming. I mean, time-consuming as in the "leave the computer on overnight while it works through its issues" variety. For those familiar with the process, you'll recognize the dreaded "step two" freeze... * Streaming from the cloud on a desktop Mac, which I looked forward to so I could listen to my personal library at work, is the most ridiculously memory-intensive process. I do graphic design and let's just say that Match and Photoshop equals a stroll through quicksand... So, for me no work streaming from my cloud. * And speaking of streaming, why the hell do we have to download instead of stream to listen on i-devices?! What a time waster! For that matter, the whole process of iTunes Match, from ripping CDs to iTunes, to updating the cloud, to downloading to the i-device, is much more time consuming than the alternative "manual" updating of an iPhone/iPad. So, boo. I don't think I was this pissed when I wasted $75 on the lotusflow3r website! Anyone agree, or want to clue me in on what I'm doing wrong? |

I fuckin' hate iTunes! I don't even use it to put songs on my ipod. I use Xplay3 or foobar to put songs on mine. I also use mp3tag to add pics to whatever mp3's that aren't tagged with pics. ITunes can eat a dick with Ebola on the tip!

I never use itunes. I think their songs are edited or altered in some way.

I love iTunes, EXCEPT...every once in a while, the filenames of some my songs get switched with other songs, and that is insanely annoying. I have lost stuff because of this. My Legacy

I've been fine with the iTunes system... It's pretty intuitively married to the iPhone. It's just this half-assed cloud component that's pissing me off! Guess I can just turn it off and be done with it. Its not like I haven't wasted $25 before... Hell, I've wasted 100s of times more just buying regretful music in the 80s and 90s  |

The album art has gotten switched on some of mine. For instance, Billy Joel's Greatest Hits has Elton John's Greatest Hits art. One of Liz Phair's albums has Billy Joel's album art. And I don't know how to fix it. No biggie, just annoying! Shake it til ya make it  | |

You'd be much better off using Google Music to do this. http://music.google.com
You can upload up to 20k songs to the cloud for free, and since the interface is all browser/HTML5 - it's accessible from anywhere without using very much CPU.
There's even a mobile interface for mobile browsers that works great, although obviously not as good as the native mobile app for Android. And it's streaming on mobile, too, but you can choose to download if you want to. |
