I saw Titanic 3D at the IMAX last weekend. Probably the first time seeing it in full for about 10 years as I was tagging along with a friend. The worst thing was that the screen gave a 25 minute interval as they clearly wanted to sell some drinks in their swanky new bar. That interval gave me too much time to contemplate how rubbish the movie was before the iceberg turned up.

I also think the iceberg itself still looks like a cheap Paintbrush Pro drawing.

As for Avatar, it was fucking BORING. I walked out about 45 minutes before the end and it's still the only film I've walked out of at the cinema. All that money and it looked horrible, like a bad video game I had no intention of playing.

I maintain that James Cameron hasn't made a great film since Terminator 2. True Lies was passable but I happen to think he's just a less prolific Michael Bay right now. His screenwriting skils are about on par.

Hate is a very strong word

I think I only hated "V for Vendetta" , "Slumdog Millionare" and "Up!"

I was lucky with a few of the Hitchcock classics as I saw a lot for the first time during a special season at the BFI. The one I generally don't like or at least think is vastly overrated is 'Vertigo'.

Totally agreed on Moulin Rouge though. I genuinely found it painful to watch, and I didn't feel any chemistry between the characters/actors to even buy in to the love story.

The first one that came to mind was "The Matrix".

I wasn't crazy about Avatar either. I've been meaning to see it again just to make sure it wasn't the over-crowded theatre atmosphere and bad seats that subtracted from the enjoyment. But I have a very difficult time rewatching movies that I remember the whole story and don't recall anything that could be seen as a missed detail, or hidden information, because then I feel like I've wasted another 2 hours on a movie that I honestly don't enjoy.

Vertigo is overrated, but the first part of the film is soooooooooooooo good that I don't care about the MANY flaws of the third act...

Moulin Rouge...Nicole was eye-candy, and that's about it...I left the theater bored and even depressed...

I think millions of people watched Avatar in theaters just to enjoy the 3-D experience, that's all...and I don't feel like I need to rewatch that movie either...

i'd have to say titanic. it took me about four tries to actually watch the dang thing all the way through, kept turning it off.

finally, watched it till the end and freaking rose lets jack die!!! she could have pulled him out of the water on top of her... sheesh. i have a great respect for the real ship and her passengers, but that film just pisses me off for some reason

I have very mixed feelings about this movie. The food poisoning scene is some of the funniest, literally, shit, I've seen in a movie, but so much of the rest of it, what's her name, she's rather unlikeable, so it's like meh.

But Melissa M....Lord help me I love her in this movie.

THE HANGOVER Just too damned juvenile for me and the asian guy seemed like a stereotype.

The slasher genre seemed big throughout the 80s and 90s and I've read that the early 80s slasher movies were focused on what we today might call female mutilation. I can't remember the nane of this old flick I saw for a film class I once took but in the film the guy cut off the woman's breasts. For that class we also watched American Psycho in which the lead character professes a love for mutilating women. There is one scene in which he is having sex with two women and one of them he uses a wire hanger on. I don't have to go any further than that.

The first two Spider-Man movies, and I say that as a lifelong Spidey fan. They were so disappointing with horrible dialogue, I could not believe they were so well received
