There is a LOT of passive agressive "non posts" here and it is obvious as well as sad.

Damn... now I feel like I have to reply to every post, lest someone thinks I was ignoring him. lol

No no no..it's not that and you've never been one to use passive agresive techniques. You are up front about things if you have something to say etc.

biggrin I know! This thread is wicked, because I'm joking. It is a serious topic though.

I know--lets name names, break it down, and wreck shit etc..I wanna get banned this week

I don't have multiple accounts, but when I was switching IDs on the old Org, it was to kid around. I always said what I had to say under this ID.

Nice point, Aerogram... the ban on flaming also causes backstabbing behavior where people will act cool to you on the forums and say all kinds of bad shit about you to everyone in private.

Ah I dunno... I think the ban on flaming gets rid of the straight-up unimaginative verbal abuse, and makes people be more creative with their criticism smile Do you really want a forum full of "You are a fucking moron" "No, you are a fucking moron" over and over?

As for the backstabbing or bitching... that always goes on. People who are bitches, and who have time on their hands, will bitch smile

Hey, Ian... you have to admit that my flames were always VERY imaginative... some of them were quite artistic, in fact.

May I flame as long as I make my flames miniature works of literature?

Well that would seem to be entirely reasonable biggrin

However the best way to flame on the Org is to make it SO clever that the mods don't even know it's a flame. Just use big words or something, you discombobulated nincompoop!

I don't necessarily think that we should just go back to flaming. I just view passive-aggressive behavior has pretty normal in the circumstances. Since there's no plan to make us all saints in the near future, there will be anger... Is it healthy to ban any kind of aggressivity? I don,t think so. For all you know, the Org might have avoided desintegration through passive-aggressivity. smile

You're right, it has always existed, but not being allowed to be openly aggressive might put the "back" back in backstabbing. smile

Oh stop being so passive aggressive razz biggrin

There is definitely an art to being a master of the smart-arsed put-down rather than the flame... but I don't think that necessitates being passive-aggressive (to be honest, passive aggressive behaviour is usually quite subtle - and more subtle than I'd ever credit anything that appears on the Org...)

In praise of passive-aggressivity? biggrin

I agree though... People seem more sensitive to all things aggressive on the new Org, and that's fine... to an extent.

I'm truly disheartened though, cuz an old friend is leaving the Org and the internet altogether. I sure hope we manage to keep in touch.

I have no idea why this thread makes me think of the tv sitcom Seinfeld; a show about nothing but is really about something. big grin I have always loved Aerograms mind, however sometimes I am a bit jealous of his intellect too. You hairy bastard. evil wink You were ALWAYS contributing something thought provoking, pensive to the threads on the older version of the org. I will expect to see more of this behaviour from you from this point on. If I don't I will no longer remain passive and call you out and flame your ass. big grin

How does one "leave" the internet? I can't even contemplate that. I can't imagine a world without email!

Although of course I'm pretty sure I survived just fine before I got email access. And come to think of it, I survived without a mobile phone too. Now I can't imagine doing without it. Scary how quickly you can get dependent on a piece of tech...

It's hard to believe, but yes there are people who choose to live without the internet. Maybe even one day, the coolest thing will be to walk into a room and say "The Internet is for f*cking morons. I pride myself on not using it." Or is that cool already? smile
