McDonald’s Employee Accused of Putting Phlegm in Tea

How effin’ gross.

A McDonald’s employee is charged with unlawful and malicious tampering with food after customers reported finding phlegm in their tea, deputies said. Greenville County deputies said a mother and her daughter ordered sweet tea from the McDonald’s on Northeast Main Street in Simpsonville on Saturday.

After getting the tea they noticed it was not sweet, according to deputies. After returning the drinks the customers realized that the order was still not correct, deputies said. Deputies said rather than going back to the restaurant, the victims went home to add their own sweetener.

The victims said when they open the top they noticed a large deposit of phlegm was found floating in both drinks. Greenville County deputies said they arrested Marvin D. Washington Jr., 19, and charged him with unlawful and malicious tampering with food. According to an arrest warrant Washington was seen on video leaning his face down to the drinks before filling them with tea.

What does the particular chain have to do with it?

Honestly, I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that people who handle food sometimes spit in it and do all kinds of shit to it, no matter where you go.

^Tis true. The only places to trust honestly is the small mom and pop places. They may on the outside and in the front look drabbish and semi clean, but the back of the house, i.e kitchen, 9 times out of 10 is spotless.

Anyone upset bout this happening at McD's or some franchise that pays poorly and has no notion of pride in the workplace is a fool.

I don't know if we even have mom and pop places where I'm at anymore.

Just remember the human body is strong and 9 times out of 10 fight back most bacteria introduced into it. Be more concerned bout temps and cross contamination than some fools piss, sweat, boogers, etc.

I still laugh at the story of one guy pissing into someone's coffee and they had it on tape, I think it was on World's Dumbest. But yeah the body is strong. I doubt phlegm is that contagious to be serious.

^If youre ingesting McD's, phlegm, which we all are looking up before we spell it, is the last thing to be worried bout.

I haven't eaten at Mickey D's since 2007 at the latest so it don't really concern me that much besides I know how fucked up Mickey D's was inside which is why I rarely ate inside.
