Google chrome/youtube/flash-PLEASE HELP!

so i switched over to chrome about a month ago from explorer and it was a dream come true. now, not so much. chrome is slower now and any youtube vid i want to watch stops/starts. i tried disabling one of the flashes on chrome-didn't work. of course, the site that i went to for help said make sure the flash i was disabling was not in the stand alone folder-no idea what that is.

I also cleared the cache/browsing history and restarted the computer. nothing. any help before i switch over to firefox?

Chrome's the shit. Been using it forever and I would wager that it has nothing to do with these issues. You should look into other causes.

I tend to agree with Ace... I've had some issues with Chorme/YouTube/Flashing crashing but I think that's more of a Flash code issue. That being said...

How long have you had the HDD? How much space to you have left on your HDD.

In this order, I'd try this.

1. Run Anti-virus Protection (lastest version)

2. Run Malwarbytes Anti-Malware 1.61 (lastest version)

3. I would uninstall all Adobe software

4. Uninstall Chrome

5. use CCleaner

6. Defragment my HDD

Reinstall Adobe's software

Reinstall Chrome

I'd advise you to get CCleaner. Perhaps that's the problem. I tend to see that Flash also has cache of files that are streamed and may be downloaded into your computer.

Does AVG really work? Malwarebytes does the trick for me. I don't necessarily have need for any other anti-virus type programs, especially the ones that trick you when you think you have a virus and it's really just a rogue.

HDD: Hard Disk Drive.

This maybe part of the problem.... maybe. AVG is good but it sucks up a lot of CPU and its bloated.

I'd uninstall and get this, Microsoft Security Essentials. Its free it gives you full protection. I'd recommend Malwarbytes (free) because, though it doesn't run in real time, it won't interfere or conflict with with anti-virus protection and you can run it to catch the few things M.S.E. doesn't. I think you are a heavy internet user so it will come in handy.

The other thing to wipe AVG completely off your computer use this... Revo Unistaller.

It's simple and straight forward to use but be careful don't get click happy. You'll want to check the last box -which will clean your system of all AVG software- when that dialog box appears. After its finished, a second dialog box will show your Computer Registry's, manually check the boxes with BOLD TYPE beside it, nothing else, and delete A third dialog box will pop up asking you to delete residual programs of the software, you can select all and delete those... sometimes you have to restart your computer to delete them also.

You can of course download your new software to a flash drive and uploaded to your computer. I would still follow the order I gave you in running anit/malware protection, uninstalling old software and installing new software.

Add additions to the list.... You may want to install Revo first to uninstall Chrome and Adobe software too.

7. Uninstall AVG

8. Run CCleaner

9. Install MSE Virus Protection (RUN)

10. Install Malware (RUN)

11. Install Chrome

12. Install Adobe Software.

Also to the Chrome/Google Store and get WOT, it does the same things as AVG feature of warning you when sites aren't safe... again streamlined isn't bloated.

I think that's a photobucket problem the last update they had, I had problems with that also. I'm too tired to figure it out so I've resorted to uploading a pic at a time... I know a pain in the ass. lol

I've been using MSE as my sole protection for quite a while and everything seems good.

You'll need to back up.

I'm not sure how many bookmarks you have, but do you have a flash drive?

Nope, you couldn't unistall it anyways its part of th OS.

Just Chrome, AVG, Adobe, and then reinstall Chrome, Adobe software.. with your new anti virus from Microsoft. Don't forget to defrag. smile

After you've uninstalled the software, and clean it up further with CCleaner, you want to defrag.

Go to > Start > click on Accessories folder and look for, System Tools folder > click on System Tools and you'll see Disk Defragment. Click on the button Defragment Now; depending on how much stuff you have on your hard drive, it will take a while to defrag.

What this does is organize your files on your hard drive, your files scatter and fragment on different places on your HDD everywhere time you open them and close open them. This puts a strain on your hard drive, if they are in order and together your hard drive runs more smoothly.

That's good, you always run anti virus and/or malware first... as a precaution just incase your issue is a virus/worm/malware issue. Carry on to the next steps. biggrin

Can't you save them by signing into Chrome?
