Scaring Children for Laughs OK, I LOOOOVE scaring my friends.
And one of my favorite video gags is that maze game where you play and as the maze gets more difficult, the player concentrates harder until which point they face is nearly against the computer screen....the BAM!!! Scary screaming monster pops up!
And I love watching reaction videos on youtube.
However, I've noticed a disturbing trend of people who are willing to humiliate and scare the shit out of little kids for fun. Some of these kids are younger brothers and sisters, and you would expect that from a teen or pre-teen older sibling to be that cruel.
But many of these are parents subjecting their children to what must be extremely frightening experiences , laughing while their children are crying....AND FILMING THE ENTIRE THING to post on youtube!
What's next? Tie them down and make them watch Graffiti Bridge or the exorcist?
I seriously think, this trend of humiliating children is far worse than folks who forced their parents to watch 2-girls-1 cup

I totally agree. It's uncomfortable watching kids cry.
I make my daughter jump and she laughs her little ass off, but I don't jump out on my son. He usually gets really angry or cries - he hates it.

I guess it depends on how little the kids are....teenagers....eh it could be funny....little ones, not so funny.
Something I get annoyed at is tickleing. My youngest son is ok with a little tickling but my oldest HATES it! and you know, you got that one relative that's like "I'm gonna tickle you" and I feel kinda dumb saying it but I always tell them that Addison HATES it, please don't. He will cry almost immediatly. poor guy. "not a fan" yeah...ok

It's absolutely horrible and sad to see little children crying because they're helpless about their emotions. If I ever see anyone who finds it funny to scare a little child up to the point they cry, I will personally fist-fuck their arsehole. Without lube.

I'm not a professional doctor, but I think scaring your OWN children for laughs is a very negative experience with bad consequences, SPECIALLY for the PARENTS. I wouldn't be surprised if, after a cruel/horrific prank joke, the kids lost the respect for their parents and started thinking of them as weird, not-to-be-trusted, slighty idiotic adults...

OMG... I can soooo relate to this.... a few years ago a friend of mine was telling me some horror stories about his ex wife. This sick stupid bitch thought it was funny to cover herself in ketchup and lay lifeless at the bottom of the staircase just to see how her 7 year old daughter would react when she got home from school!!!! WTF????? I couldn't imagine anything more cruel, sadistic, twisted or sick than what she did to that child.
Fortunately, CPS agreed and granted him full custody ... she was also charged with child abuse....

There's a reason tickling has been used as torture.
I'm extremely ticklish. As a kid, being tickled by someone who did not know when to stop (and you always know who that person is going to be) was absolutely terrifying for me. I would panic and not be able to breathe.
Ticking kids or scaring them intentionally is cruel. Though, I will admit, I do find it funny when people of any age are startled unintentionally. I don't like when it happens to me, but I can laugh along with it, if it does. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

What really scares me is the fact that you thought this was thread-worthy material.

@ graffitti bridge remark. it wasn't that bad hey!
i agree it's not nice to use children to garner media attention. but now that youtube allows folks to upload their own 'movies' it will only get worse.

now see...that is fucked up. it's one thing to jump out and startle someone ...but that is something else altogether. Lordamercy!
"not a fan" yeah...ok | |

it has? I didn't know that but...it sure makes sense. I remember crying when tickled to much as a kid. it was torture really. as I said before...there's a huge differnece between startling someone and scaring someone.

I hate tickling too. I have an automatic knee jerk response to fight. Immediately. I have socked someone before without even knowing what happened 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Someone I know was once home alone with her 3 year old, opened and closed the door so the baby could hear, but was playing "hide and seek" with her without telling her, so she started crying thinking she was abandoned. Not impressed.

It depends on the age and the psyschy of the child. If you get pleasure out of scaring kids for the hell of it; you need to be jacked. Prince's Sarah
