About last night (4/2):

  • I had the feeling it was going to be Kenya Michaels returning... I didn't think she was that great when she was there before. She's too over the top, and not really "together". Her lip-synch was "too much" for that song. I wasn't sad to see her leave again. boxed
  • The DILFS were interesting. Sharon's was a first-class jackass. (Good for Chad! highfive) Kenya's dad seemed really uncomfortable from beginning to end.
  • I just don't like Phi Phi, but she pulled that twin thing off last night. neutral
  • Latrice is one fierce big bitch! touched And I love her laugh! lol
  • I loved Ru's gown this week!

Yes, Kenya Michaels returning was, IMO, the only other option other than Willam. Woulda made good television to bring Willam back, but I guess they want reunion ratings. The LSFYL was ridiculous. She was singing a different song. This is Aretha Franklin, dear. Not Shakira.

The fight between Chad and the DILF seemed forced and fake. The fact they WOULD NOT DROP IT was even more suspicious. I mean is a small misunderstanding (that did not end in anyone running off or crying) really worth bringing up 4 times? Casting a wide net for editorial purposes, I guess, but its clear this season's queens don't have much to say.

You can tell these queens watched all the seasons prior. The You Betta Work! room wasn't quiet in the past seasons. These queens seem like they don't know how to make good, watchable television now that Willam is gone.

I wasn't a phan of Phi Phi's deal. He did really good makeup on the DILF (you can tell he enjoyed painting that fine ass mofo, too) but his own makeup struggled AGAIN. Maybe he's too small and all that makeup clumps up his face to me. It's too clowny. I woulda liked to see him lip synch - not just to see him go home, but because he paints himself like Aretha Franklin anyway. His attitude, of course, is not winning any pageants.

Latrice finally blended her makeup tonight! I know people really dig Latrice, but the copper/caramel foundation is not doing him favors. Dida Ritz does this too and its the first season I've seen a black queen paint their face so light. Bebe Zahara Benet was fantastic at using proper makeup and tones and he never looked like he was PAINTED! It was flawless. Latrice... you can always see the lines by his jaw where he does not blend - but tonight he did it and it looked flawless. Too bad his queen had makeup drawn on with So Big! crayons. WTF was with that mascara and eyeshadow on him???????????????

Whew. Oh and Sharon's was perfect and he shoulda won. I don't care if his dilf looked like a crazy futuristic drag pirate mom with 1 eye. He looked striking and thats more than I can say for the rest of them.

[Edited 4/5/12 22:10pm] Yes, I agree about Latrice's make up. When she starts doing it she looks like H.R Puffenstuff! I'm glad, at least she know how to blend that marmalade!

If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

They love those over the top ghetto names don't they, Latrice, Kenya, I mean really, whats next Boomshikanehneh.

Even here in New Zealand we have Pacific Island queens called Kornisha and Shenehneh.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I don't even think of Latrice as ghetto so much as older-style name. Like I picture someone's grandmama named Latrice. shrug

I do have a question, though: When PhiPhi made that "Help" remark, she said something about being offended as a woman of color. I Googled her, but I wasn't sure what she meant by that. confuse

You mean Michele? I am not aware of Michele being anything but caucasian. shrug I think she just says in jest. Like if I said I was a black woman, which I know it's hard to believe I am not.

Shut up. neutral

I don't know if it's adversity or sass or both or who knows but often some gay men (not me no never giggle) gravitate and relate to or just simply hit it off immediately with women of color. I've heard men make this sort of comment but not often women (for the exception of my studio-mate Mary, but she says it with irony because her white-ness is just so evident falloff)

Oh, okay... Yes.

Tyra's hair looked like she found it in the dumpster behind Diana Ross' house.

Raj's looked like it was packed in a suitcase, and she had no time to pick it out.
