there's a similar Japanese movie, you have to check out if you like this film! its called "Battle Royal".

I hope this movie doesn't suck. It has good potential.

The hype has totally turned me off to this movie. I will avoid this like the twilight films.

I made the same argument; however, Breaking Dawn Part 1 is best installment in the series so far. I couldn't believe my eyes.

This looks like a rip-off of of the short story from the 1920s, "The Most Dangerous Game," by Richard Connell.

I think the premise is all too similar to Stephen King/Richard Bachman's The Running Man novel. That said, I still intend to see it.

Just started reading the book 2 nights ago. It's good.

I thought the same when I read the synopsis. When I read that years ago, I always thought it would make a really fantastic film too.

Apart from Graffitti Bridge, no modern motion picture could be any worse than the first three Twlight movies.

It's been a number of years since I saw Battle Royale, but it's not really that similar, other than it's a Government imposed last man (or should I say teen) standing kinda thing...no?

yeah when i saw the trailer for that movie. Battle Royal popped into my head. I was thinking well maybe it was used as an influence kinda like Paprika was to Inception or Perfect Blue to Black Swan,

“From then on it’s funny,” he says. “We’d work all day and then we’d all end up in my room at night.” The usual group included the likes of Kravitz, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Tucci, Josh Hutcherson, and director Gary Ross. “Just hanging out,” says Kravitz. “I would dj on my iTunes from my computer and we’d listen to music all night and talk about art.”

I'm almost finished with the first book. I really couldn't get into it until one page, I think it was 239 or something, made me tear up and cry. Other than that it's just meh. What I'm getting and what I hope all the teens who will undoubtedly swamp the theaters to see this...is that most of us are extremely lucky. Especially in America. We take everything for granted and have so much and throw away more than most of the rest of the world even has. I'm hoping maybe this message will get through to those who don't give a second thought about other people in the world starving.

The whole idea of these kids killing each other in the story honestly did turn me off from becoming a fan of it.

Me too. I read it because my DIL bought it. I've read every book in the house so I thought I'd see what all the fuss is about. I really didn't like that aspect at all. The only thing I want to see now is the destruction of the Capitol. But I don't want to read the other books to find out if that happens.

Nothing like the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo books...once I started reading I had to read all three in a week.

OMG gurll don't get me started on that. I LOVE THAT STORY. I like the swedish films but rooney mara is my favorite lisbeth. I can't put those books down it's addicting.

I wanted to read them, but now they are seeming like a chick/twilight thing, and I am not so sure anymore.
