Customer Service everywhere is just the pits! In this failing economy, you would think businesses will do just about anything to get you to open your wallet! It's just appalling how businesses treat people these days. Talking about this to a friend of mine and he said, "his keeping a job, depends on good customer service, but upper management is telling him focus less on the people and more on the bottom line." In other words, screw them, do what ever you need to to make the numbers. Just going out to do everyday things, I swear, folks behind the counters have NO HOME TRAINING! I'm tired of saying WTF???

Sounds to me like you could make some serious dough getting into a business where you provide excellent customer service!

Totally agree.
I call it the WALMARTING OF AMERICA ... and I think it is invading every business . Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

It appears that the tasks that are being done by employees have tripled without any compensation or extra help. Plus, there is a lot of customers without home training. I can't tell you the times I have witnessed people be hyper demanding when their is a line of 10 people behind them. Not only are they not ready to place their order-but they want 5 star treatment-take their freakin time-so the rest of us in line wait while they make up their minds.

Most customers are just complete and utter assholes hellbent on shoving their privilege down every employee's throat.
The customer is always right, though, right?

Customer service does really suck these days. Folks just don't care anymore. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Working in a customer-service field, I can tell you that it's 50/50.
We get our fair share of asshole customers who think that their $20/month entitles them to have their boots licked and their groins rubbed. They are beligerent, treat us like indentured servants, and when they can't get what they want, when they want, how they want...they threaten to cancel service. Every fucking time.
Then there are the sweetheart customers, who politely ask for service, and realize that they aren't the center of the universe.
Here's a hint to all of you...if you ask nicely, you will get what you want. We will bend over backwards to accomodate you. If you call with a chip on your shoulder, you will wait for hours for a call back from "the manager".
Of course, as a customer, if you call for service with a smile on your face and the voice on the other end of the phone is shooting daggers at you, then ask for a supervisor. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
