The most I ever found? 300 bucks

Thing that I found worth the most? Couple pounds of weed and a wedding ring with a huge rock on it lol

...that's the starting point for a movie script if I ever heard one...

When I was in my teens I found a zip up pouch with a $10 note inside, kept it and felt bad fro weeks. Later on in 2007 found a $100 note outsdie the cop shop and thought (Someone could be missing that), so handed it in to the station, and a guy from TV one news, told me it wa s a test they were doing, and all the cameras and shit came up and they said, for your honesty, I could keep it. Later on that night it was on and several people were accosted by the reporter when they didn't hand the note in. Unfortunately all of the ones they showed were ethnic minorities and all the honest ones were white, so it was a racially loaded experiment.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I never found anything more than $20 on the ground. However, I was assigned to clear out some boxes at work once, and found $800 in cash in one of them. I knew who it belong to and I gave it to her. She had no idea it was in there......wouldn't have missed it.

I have found very valuable jewelry---one lady I saw her wearing this diamond bracelet, and later it was on the dance floor. She was a pissy drunk and had made some racist comments. I gave her the damn bracelet anyway, and she started crying saying her it was given to her before her grandma died and kept thanking me and wanting to hug and shit (drunk as hell--dont know what kind of person she was sober but as a drunk, she said some racist shit). Anway, my friends were all telling me I shouldn't have given it to her. I was doubting myself before I handed it to her--it was clearly valuable. I just believe that if I knew who it belonged to and I kept it, then it was stolen. I just feel that what goes around comes around, and i would have lost sleep over it......

At work, the attorney who had my office before I did had shared the story of how she lost this beautiful and very valuable and unusual ring (worth about $8K) when she saw the one I was wearing (worth only about $1500). When I moved into the office several years after she had gone, I discarded all of the prior furniture, and in the process of clearing it out, I found that very ring. It was as awesome as she decribed but I knew damn well who it belonged to, and trust me, I hated this bitch. Funny thing is that I was the one who got her fired. Nonetheless, I called her and told her I had found it. She didn't even believe me, saying she doesn't think she lost it in the office. I insisted she come by and she reluctantly agreed. She was shocked that I went through so much to get her to come and get it. My consciouse wouldn't let me keep it....and believe me...I REALLY hated this woman..had she stayed I would have had to leave for fear of whooping her ass.

Funniest find? One half pound of MJ in my boss' computer bag--she had NO idea it was in there...I put the bag in her chair at work....a law office......ROFL

oh well....that is just me......walking the red road

$200.00 on the floor at a Costco. It was the first time I had ever gone there.

I reported to the store manager that I found an undisclosed amount of money and gave my number in case anyone reported losing a wad of cash.

No one did.

i did the same thing at a pizza joint! but it was $92. the manager damn near demanded i give him the money! said he would call the cops. I dialed 911 and handed him my phone...i got one person asking but it was not their money.

$100. Found it at a Barnes & Noble. Called back up later that day and asked if anybody asked about losing money. I was completely prepared to give it back. And actually I have ended up giving back most money I've found in my life. But nobody asked about this money, so it stayed in my pocket.

there was a topic a while ago about what would you do if you found a lage sum of money. Like $100,000.

I said I would keep it, but check to see if anyone had claimed it as lost.

I would NOT turn it in under the assumption that if it was not claimed in 90 days or whatever that I would be able to keep it. Because, if it was ill-gotten then either that would make it more likely that the bad guys would find out who found it, or as has been the case a number of times, the cops would claim it as illegal money and keep it for the department.

If it was legitimately earned and lost there would be some report on it someplace.

I found an envelope with about $200 in it. I kept looking for some ID or an address oin it to see if someone had lost it so I could turn it back in to them, but I saw noithing. biggrin

I did once find a notebook full of blank business checks outside a grocery store one time. I called and left a message for someone at that business, and they came back for it the next day.
