do you ever get sucked into a FB drama and then feel like a complete idiot afterwards??

Ugh....I got sucked into one yesterday, and while it felt good at the time I now feel like a total idiot.

So I posted on here a while back about my husbands (ex) friend and his fiance posting shit about me on their FBs a month or two back, and the whole mess ended with the guy txting my husband and saying that I have the 'face of a man'. It's unfortunate because they are no longer friends over the whole thing but ANYWAY....

So yesterday....a third party had a FB post about Madonna and how gross she is and blah blah. So the chic from the previous drama is a mutual friend and she started saying Madonnas a hag and stuff too. I commented with something like 'Madonna looks great esp for her age and that I know some 20 somethings who look FAR FAR worse and haven't even had kids yet and that those girls should keep their mouths shut'. (My first mistake I know)

So then the dude from previous drama, her fiance tunes in with 'I know some 30 somethings who look in the mirror and pretend the person looking back at them isn't really a man'.

I say 'Sounds like a personal problem'.

He says 'I don't have to stare at it, so I don't care'.

I say 'Whatever it is you think about my face is your opinion and I don't believe that many other people share that opinion with you. But the fact that you try to diss people based on things they can't change about their appearance shows how childish you really are.'

Then he says 'You can change it, you can get plastic surgery'.

Well the whole thing got deleted ofcourse, but I'm sure a ton of people saw it, and now I'M the one who feels so childish. Ugh. And like my husband said.....You are 33 years old...act like it!!

Ugh....anyone else get sucked into the drama like that at times?

BLOCK those people on FB.

That way you can't read their posts, and they can't read yours.

Thanks. It was them reaching, and it doesn't bother me. It actually makes me laugh that it's the best they can come up with, since if they'd have gotten to know me, I have a MILLION AND ONE character flaws they COULD have made a dick out of me for. Instead they chose to just hate on me for no apparent reason and it makes them look idiotic.

I blocked them....so now does that mean I won't see even their comments on other ppl's pages?

I had drama on myspace, back when that was popular. I have a fb page but refuse to add family or friends to it, if I want to see how family is who is far away, I use my moms or ask her how they are.

my ultimate conclusion is that social networking sites are simply not for me. who has time to broadcast/tweet/post/blog the minutia of everyday life? and who cares to read that?

if i were you i'd delete my account and never look back. you'll thank me later!

Oh, I do! It helps to pass the time away and gives me a laugh. Just wish I would have kept my mouth shut afterwards though. I never know when to shut up.

I think that occurs no matter where you go on the internet, you're gonna always find dummies to try to engage with you in dumb arguments. Do like the rest say and block them and carry on.

Never a participant, always a witness. Even with my days with Nigel, we kept our drama in emails and IMs. I might have blogged up a storm about him, but nobody read that but his sensitive ass.

As for beng a witness, I've seen FB game friends argue about breaking up and the drama with their kids, cheating, new lovers, etc. Deleted them both. Two YouTube personalities I like (who break up, make up, break up, make up....break up...for GOOD we're hoping) indirectly talk about one another and have all their fans liking each other's pages just to write trash. The guy makes videos that get a lot of hits and she's already moved on to someone else....for GOOD I hope.

Months later, an old high school classmate had her FB phished into/hacked/whatever. Some jealous and bitter person wrote all kinds of ugly things about her for hours until she eventually signed in and fixed the mess. It was obvious that the person was either an ex or a jealous person in her life. I mean, the girl is GORGEOUS and has a lot going for herself. But she's really cool and laid back. Not knowing the full story, it just seemed really sad someone had to stoop that low...

But for the most part, my FB friends are drama free. I try to stay far, far away from it.

I deleted that mess. I CAN'T because people be doing the most. If ever I started anything with anyone it was the pity party crew and nothing I could say would make any of them cheer up and do anything about their shit it's good to vent sometimes but DAMN. I don't need to know that you couldn't sleep, wet the bed then fell down the stairs, killed the cat on the landing and your grandma yelled at you for making too much damn noise, unless you're willing to laugh about it.

But have you ever seen some drama and then the next day and one of the people deleted all their comments and the other person just looks CRAZY?

No, I've never gotten into something like that on FB

But the great thing about FB as opposed to this place is you can block people--even if they are still your friend!

I don't really have any enemies, but there are some people I just don't want to read their constant requests to clean my carpet, so...blocked!

someone blocked me the other day because I made a joke abouth the cleanliness of her punani, but in a round about way and in the kind of jokey smutty style she often dishes out... It was a light hearted comment and her boyfriend chipped in and called me 'fucking prick'! a little over sensitive I thought, as I have no knowledge of her hygine routines (or her punani) and I'm sure she keep her 'house' in order and clean as a whistle...
