Since I'm so homesick for sandwiches in the US, I'm also nostalgic for sandwiches from Le Sandwicherie on 14th street in Miami Beach. I like the little cornichons they use, and the have a 'secret weapon' vinaigrette that has a crack cocaine addictive effect on their sandwiches |

Might not be that bad, I'm in the same country as the dude and it's cured meat that's vaccum sealed can be sent overnight on dry ice. Besides, at home in the States I used to order meats by mail from Omaha Steaks, Williams Sonoma, and Dean & Deluca. I don't see how this would be any different.
I'm just not willing to pay for the pastrami what I'm pretty sure will be an outrageous price. |

A properly made Club Sandwich works every time.
The very best sandwich I've had though was probably a Louisiana Burger at the Roskilde music festival in Denmark. It was called a burger but it was actually more like a long sandwich with great meat, lettuce, lots of chilli peppers and some kind of amazing dressing. Eating it was an ecstatic experience. Wonder if the fact that their logo was a giant marijuana leaf had anything to do with it...
At first look I read "...at the ROADKILL..." I was like, EWWWW! |

There's a great Mexican sandwich place in my building, Manny's Tortas, and the veggie torta is pretty awesome. Crusty bread, beans, tomato, onion, sauteed mushrooms, avocado, cheese and chipotle mayo. YUM.
And there's a vietnamese deli that makes great vegetarian Banh Mi near me. I get the mock duck and the other veggies and herbs and bread are allllll perfect. Yum.
That does sound yummy. |

The Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sandwich I get from Subway is gooooooood.
I'm not sure if it's the best sandwich I've ever had but since I don't eat many sandwiches from outside places, it probably is.
You need to find a Quizno's.
Blows Subway out of the water.
Nuh-Uhnnn! That's another sammich joint I can't stomach. When they wanted to slide my Italian cold cut sammich through that toaster, I was through. Who the hell eats an italian hogie hot? That's a sacrilege. |

I've never heard of either expression.
Can't possibly be worse than the McRib.
Have you ever had a Greek "Gyro" sandwich? A "Döner" (aka Döner Kebap) is something like it's Turkish cousin.
Here in Germany where we have a large Turkish minority population, the Döner is the equivalent of fast food (maybe like the way people go for burgers, tacos, etc. at home in the States). The meat is compressed from heavily seasoned strips, and made from beef, lamb, or chicken.
It is served in a grilled flatbread with a choice of accoutrements that normally include, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, red or white cabbage slaw, and yogurt and/or spicy pepper sauce. You can pick and choose which ones you want to add or subtract, almost similar to the way they prepare sandwiches at something like Subway in the US. Döner Kebabs are tasty but but fattening. Awesome hangover food though (due to the saltiness of the meat).
You know how in the states we have those tv shopping shows where you can buy all kinds of crazy kitchen items to give you those oh so special restaurant results in your cooking? Here in Germany they have mini home rotisseries created especially for recreating Turkish Döner (or Greek Gyro) sandwiches. However instead of using compresses fast food mystery meat, the home cook just wraps endless thin slices of chicken or beef around the thing, but no without seasoning the hell out of the meat first.
Is there anything our Ottie doesn't know? Girl, you's my girl! I often wondered what kind of meat that was on that spit. It looked a bit too uniform to be the leg of some unfortunate beast. Thanks for the edumacation! |

The kid behind the counter was probably new. They specifically ASK you whether or not you want it toasted. Most of their sandwiches HAVE to be toasted actually.
That's what I love most.
...I like my cold cuts "warm". By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! |

Gurlll, the meat on those spits is compressed like a mug. I don't know how many scraps they use, but it's compressed to hell and is unnaturally fatty and juicy.... but I'm telling you, it's perfect food after you've knocked back a few drinks or maybe had a couple drinks too many at somebody's house the night before |
