Folks, summer will be here before you know it. Time to take your workouts to another level! No excuses.

Had a great upper body workout Monday - did 110 lb. dumbell bench press 6x. Eventually I'll work up to 115. I had soreness in my knees, so Tuesday I took it easy on heavy squats. Today is light chest & arms, Friday is light legs, back & shoulders.

I have not worked out in a week...but someone told me last night that I still look like I've lost more weight this week. Weird.

Anyway, I'm going today and will get back on track.

My schedule lately hasn't allowed me to get my 4 days in at the gym. So I'm thinking of other ways outside of the gym to get my workouts in. Also gas prices are rising like the plague. I think I'm going to have to start jogging around my complex to get my cardio in.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I've not been so good with keeping up the running just lately. I do the plank a lot though. lol

I haven't weighed myself for over 2 weeks... I don't have any scales so weigh myself when I go to my in-laws. Last time I was 8 stone 7... I hope i'm closer to my goal of 8 stone now. Fingers crossed. I need to make the excercise my main priority now. I just bought 4 bikinis ready for my holiday in July and I am going to wear them all. I don't even want to take a one-piece this year. That's my incentive.

I rode my bike to work every day last week, rode to my bf’s and out for dinner last Friday night and rode 19 miles for fun on Saturday.

Rested my legs Sunday.

It has rained or threatened rain every day this week. Boo.

Hopefully it’ll dry up by the weekend so I can get back on it.

That’s my main workout plan these days. I’ll get back into the yoga here soon too.

When I was doing weights regularly I only ever did arms as ALL of my cardio is all legs (running, elliptical, biking). And I do yoga which covers leg work as well.

Do you think I need to do leg stuff? Or does it make sense that I've got it covered with the other stuff?

I used to think the exact same way Carrie, But since ive incorporated leg work my running has come easier to me.. I am never tired..My speed has increased ALOT! Plus it has given my legs more definition and blasted off the cellulite I couldnt get rid of by running alone...

PLus, it has lifted my butt! I think its worth the extra effort for that alone!! lol

Interesting. I guess that makes sense.

I have always been worried about my legs getting any bigger. My calves and thighs are big for my size and I can’t afford to have them get any bigger! (Thankfully, my bf loves my legs and it’s helped me appreciate them more. smile ) I’ve always liked my bottom, but I’m not getting any younger.

You’ve convinced me. I’ll have to start adding it in.

I (once again) decided to get serious THIS WEEK.

Was supposed to do Mon/Wed/Fri schedule, but Monday was so nice I drove into NYC to have dinner with a friend instead.

boxed

Tuesday I benchpressed (won't post girlie-weight used), then did some dumbell curls, dips and tricep pushdowns.

Sore as hell yesterday.

Going again tonight .

Realized that I'm growing around the middle again ( mad ) so I need to get into crunches and shit.

I worked out twice this week so far. I took the three weeks of the Rodeo off, so I'm hitting light weights this week.

I'll ramp it up next week, and by the week after that I should be back at max weights.

I haven't be able to get to the gym as much as I'd like so I've been going to the park to walk and run 3-4 times a week. I also started using the nike training club app for ipod/iphone. It has left me so sore lol Had to take a 2 day break 'cause I couldn't walk well neutral

I really don't see the need for really heavy weights. I see scrawny guys come into the gym and lift more than twice the weight I lift, but all they're doing is causing themselves pain. It's much better to lift a lighter weight several times than to max out and rip off a tendon.

My method of 30 min cardio and 30 min of medium weights twice a week has really paid off. My stomach is gone and replaced by a reasonably well-defined sixpack. My pecs, arms and shoulders are stronger and bigger and I can definitely walk and run a lot further without getting out of breath. I'm even really, really close to my original target weight and when I reach it I'll celebrate with a big bowl of ice cream, lol.

Gosh, I could never do all that. Way too much work. And it must be really time-consuming too? Do you run in the morning or after work?

I know I shouldn't brag about this pretty insignificant accomplishment but it's been such hard work over such a long period of time that I feel like I deserve it, lol.

I do a lot of heavy lifting for size & power. And it gives me a great rush, lol. But I see the guys you talk about all the time. They have no idea how to train, they start heavy, but their form sucks. Gotta crawl before you can walk. It took me years to get where I am now.

Haven't hit the gym yet, but I'm running 3-4 times a week. Relatively new to this, so especially the legs and knees still need some adjusting. Depending on when I get home usually something between 6-10 miles. It's amazing the high you get from running! And it's starting to pay off, too. Got some positive comments already.

Need to more for the belly, though. Any advice for something one could do at home?

Thanks! Burpees seem great, but pretty tough, if you're doing many. Guess that's the idea, though. lol

30 minutes running.

10 minutes on cross machine.

10 minutes rowing.

10 minutes abs.

Wrapping it up with 30 minutes swimming (Actually, swimming is a big lie because I can't swim for shit, call it 30 minutes of floating).

I really, REALLY need to learn how to swim. This shit is pitiful.

I do it in the mornings.. It really only takes about 1:45 to do it all.. Some days take less time, like Wends, thats about 65 minutes... Once you get used to doing it time really does fly and you look forward to doing it!
