Tattoos - any regrets?

So I was out with friends Friday night and I was the only one (out of 5) that isn't inked.

square

BUT...out of the 4 with tats, THREE of them regretted getting some or all of what they got.

razz

So...if you have tats...do you have any regrets???

I have three: One of my leg, two on my lower back.

No regrets at all. I thought long and hard about them before I got them. They are a reflection of me.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I have a sleeve on my left arm that covers a small tattoo I got back when tattooing was still illegal in the five boroughs. As time went by, I liked that initial tattoo less and less, but now that it's covered up nicely, no regrets.

I have one and while I wouldn’t say I regret it, I’m not as big a fan of it as I once was. I got it when I was 19 and my tastes have changed. It’s not a bad tattoo and it’s not trashy or anything and it does remind me of a specific period of my life.

I won’t go so far as removing it and I’ve thought about getting it covered or adding to it, but, eh, I don’t know.

I do still get compliments on it.

Just above my left breast. lol If I'm wearing a scoop-neck top it's easily viewable.

It's a cherub, but not a cutesy-looking one. It's a fairly simple black outline (with shading) of a figure with wings and a bow and arrow. It was designed after a small silver charm a friend gave me (as part of a neckalace) when I was 17. We were bffs at the time I got the tattoo.

I have two and I don't regret either of them. I had them carefully placed so they aren't easily visible. The one I got when I was 18 isn't bad, but if I were to choose a tattoo now, I probably wouldn't pick the same thing. The other one I still love; I wish it was actually bigger/more prominent. I've thought about getting a third, but can't decide on what/where.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

One guy has a "sexy babe" tattoo on his arm that he got when he was a teen, and rarely wears sleeveless shirts (in spite of sporting impressive guns) because of it.

The other has a Chinese character for "love" above his ankle. 30 years later he's thinking of getting it removed.

The last is a young lady with "DREAM" tattooed in script just below her wrist. First it's not crisp, so hard to read, and second she's working with clients here in the office and feels self-conscious about it now so covers it up with long sleeves or thick watchbands/bracelets.

lol

I am 100% glad that I didn't rush off to get my "prince" tat last year (if anyone recalls that nonsense)...but my buddy (the only one who doesn't regret his amazing tat) says I should definitely just go for it.

hmm

Funny enough...I was watching a re-run of "How I Met Your Mother" and I caught the episode where one character goes to get a butterfly "tramp stamp" removed that he got while drunk.

falloff

I will most definitely have to be 100% sober if I ever do it!

No. Started getting them at 18. Have a full left arm sleeve and 4 on my right arm as well as a small one on my sternum. Wouldn't change any of em.

Then again, I didn't walk into a parlor and sift through pictures until I found one that "meant" something to me. lol.

Yes!

I had a prince (I know, I know!) on my lower back about 10 years ago... and it really wasn't very good.

I finally got it covered over with another design about 2 years ago - which is much better. But it's still not something i'd be proud to show off. Luckily it's not a part of my body that's often on display, so people rarely notice it.

The original prince scarred my back, so if you run your fingers lightly over the current tattoo, you can still feel it.

Pictures, please..

I have none. Still undecided if I ever want some, and especially where I want them on my body

Why?

I'm not the type of person that thinks my tattoos define me...I'm perfectly satisfied with mine, not ashamed of 'em, not worried about explaIning 'em to my grandkids...but for something I wanted so badly for so many years, I couldn't really care less now that they're there...I dunno, I just realize now that they're something that I could live without shrug
