So so SO happy for Meryl. I was a baby when she last won, so after being a fan for all of the years I can remember watching films in general I am so pleased for her.
I didn't like The Iron Lady as a film but her performance was absolutely flawless. Viola Davis only deserved a Supporting nod for me so I was actually pissed off at her leading the race all the way (plus reading various comments about her being overdue when she is completely unmemorable in most of her notable filmography), and for Meryl to get it I actually jumped up and screamed even though it was nearly 5am and I'd been half asleep for the previous half hour. Yes it is.
I totally lost the Oscar pool at work. I only got 4 right.
BUT....Christopher Plummer for best actor in a supporting role was one I picked correctly! I'm firmly planted in denial

JCPenney never had any intention on firing her. The issue was with this ignorant group called 1,000,000 Moms. They threatened to boycott JCPenney if they DIDN'T fire Ellen.
Ellen's response to them is hilarious. She addressed it on her show and it is on youtube.
The commercials are great. I'm firmly planted in denial

I agree! She's way too thin.
IMHO, the poofiness of the dress just accentuated how thin she is.
I know I'm in the minority, but it was not a favorite of mine last night. I'm firmly planted in denial

Man...Sean Young is a hot mess, ain't she???? I figured this was newsworthy considering we were talking about Blade Runner on another thread recently... Sean Young Arrested: Behind-the-Scenes Oscar Drama
LOS ANGELES — Most of the drama happened off-camera at the 84th Academy Awards and the party that followed, including a surprising arrest of " Blade Runner" actress Sean Young. Young, who was spotted celebrating with stars at the Governors Ball, was involved in a fight that led to a citizen's arrest at 9:25 p.m. The Hollywood police station booked her for for investigation of misdemeanor battery, though no details are available about the incident or the victim. According to TMZ, Young had an altercation with a security guard. City News Service reports she was released on $20,000 bail at 2:55 a.m. In 2006, Young crashed the Vanity Fair Oscar party and in 2008 she entered rehabilitation for alcohol abuse after she was removed from the Directors Guild of America Awards show.
