So so SO happy for Meryl. I was a baby when she last won, so after being a fan for all of the years I can remember watching films in general I am so pleased for her.

I didn't like The Iron Lady as a film but her performance was absolutely flawless. Viola Davis only deserved a Supporting nod for me so I was actually pissed off at her leading the race all the way (plus reading various comments about her being overdue when she is completely unmemorable in most of her notable filmography), and for Meryl to get it I actually jumped up and screamed even though it was nearly 5am and I'd been half asleep for the previous half hour.

So hard to believe Christopher Plummer was in The Sound of Music and he's only now winning his first Oscar.

Beginners is a great film.

Yes, that's a damned shame. confused

I despise local TV commercials, but I swear I'm loving these JC Penny ads with Ellen. lol

yes I love them too although I thought they had fired her? But I see there was a resolution to whatever issue they had with her sexual preference.

JCPenney never had any intention on firing her. The issue was with this ignorant group called 1,000,000 Moms. They threatened to boycott JCPenney if they DIDN'T fire Ellen.

Ellen's response to them is hilarious. She addressed it on her show and it is on youtube.

The commercials are great.

Angelina is way too thin. Sorry. Love her dress though.

I agree! She's way too thin.

IMHO, the poofiness of the dress just accentuated how thin she is.

I know I'm in the minority, but it was not a favorite of mine last night.

Boo for Angelina boo not only does she look sick and unhealthy, but what's up with the femme fatale poses? That bag of bones is so full of herself. Overrated twat.

I was CRACKING UP at the guys that she presented to.

They were copying her pose. It was hilarious.

Man...Sean Young is a hot mess, ain't she????

I figured this was newsworthy considering we were talking about Blade Runner on another thread recently...

LOS ANGELES — Most of the drama happened off-camera at the 84th Academy Awards and the party that followed, including a surprising arrest of " Blade Runner" actress Sean Young. Young, who was spotted celebrating with stars at the Governors Ball, was involved in a fight that led to a citizen's arrest at 9:25 p.m. The Hollywood police station booked her for for investigation of misdemeanor battery, though no details are available about the incident or the victim. According to TMZ, Young had an altercation with a security guard. City News Service reports she was released on $20,000 bail at 2:55 a.m.

That's a damn shame! disbelief Lindsay Lohan needs to take a good and long look at this woman.
