The model doesn't look like a fair 3D representation to me. They've stripped off lots of ornaments and faces and done a "machine" interpretation of anything that looks even remotely machine-like on the tombstone. You could just as well interpret the tombstone as a wooden altar with a cross in the background, or even plant life.

Did you (or anyone else) understand that? If so can you translate please biggrin

I am interested in the "Ancient visitor" theories as there are some very curious questions poised by this, supported by facts such as similarities with Gods through different cultures etc. Could it indeed be true that Aliens visited the Earth and where believed to be Gods? Well, in all honesty, it is just as feasible a story / explanation as a God who created the Universe. There are also striking similarities in Statues and carvings etc that could be construed as evidence.

However, my Interest fades a little when some "professor" starts telling me that things from Mythology such as teh Minotaur could have been real and was a result of Alien Crossbreeding / Genetic experimenting confused

Life is short, don't be a dick.

I am part mayan/aztec/native american decent, fact.

I have a huge collection of Mayan/Aztec.

People think things visit earth when infact planets have passed us in past; whereas, earth to them is us visiting them.

Like ships passing in the night.

Just because we stand still on the planet does not mean we are not moving by many objects.

The Mayan calender, which is not a calendar but was a renewal seasonal harvest chart... a harvest and constellation chart that told throughout astrological points in the sky lined up with Orion, Regulus and the Sun ( polar point). The chart ended, as the civizarion was being scattered due to major climactic changes 3,600 years ago the Ba'k tun.

It did not end because of the world ending but was left because when the Mayans left they knew the chart would not suit other locations in which they would end up in.

Regarding, visitors well Jesus the best astronaut of all...

Note they will figure it out. Another planet does pass soon but no fear God is everywhere get Right with God.

Take care,
me

People see what they want to see. The origonal relief has nothing that suggests advanced machinery whatsoever. I guess when people really want to believe something so much they snatch at anything and present it as proof. It's anomoly hunting to support a whack theory. When pointed out that the imagery in the relief is actually standard Mayan iconography like a bird, a god and a cross,, people dismiss it but are happy to accept that it's a fully working spaceship, why because that's more fun.

Bottom line is that a lot of what is on the history channel is to education what the spice girls were to music or what Mcdonalds is to haute cuisine.

I feel sorry for real historians who work so hard to advance human understanding when the masses are more interested in this pre packaged psuedoscientific bunk. I admit it can be fun to watch but don't think of it as education. It's just all a bit silly.

What has any of that got to do with what I said?

OK. Dark matter. It's known as "dark" matter beacuse what it is as not yet known. Not only am I not equipped with more knowledge than astro physisists but am not even that knowledgable on physics so I'm sorry to say, I haven't figured out dark matter.

Um, atoms, really fucking small but yet fit loads of shit inside.

Is an atom a solar system? Does it have our star "sol" in the middle of each one? If not then no. It isn't

Well that was irrelevant and a complete waste of time.

I always though they were tombs. That will teach me to respect the years of research done by mere leading egyptologists. I should just ask the experts. Anyway, pick the most exciting and other wordly hypothesis and go with that. That seems to be the modus operandi around here.

even the experts are not certain why the great pyramid was built according to the design below. perhaps you can explain it? biggrin (please be sure to actually read the content below, prior to responding and explaining the ascending and descending passages. thank you)

Diagram of the interior structures of the Great Pyramid. The inner line indicates the pyramid's present profile, the outer line indicates the original profile.

The original entrance to the Great Pyramid is 17 metres (56 ft) vertically above ground level and 7.29 metres (23.9 ft) east of the center line of the pyramid. From this original entrance there is a Descending Passage .96 metres (3.1 ft) high and 1.04 metres (3.4 ft) wide which goes down at an angle of 26° 31'23" through the masonry of the pyramid and then into the bedrock beneath it. After 105.23 metres (345.2 ft) the passage becomes level and continues for an additional 8.84 metres (29.0 ft) to the lower Chamber, which appears not to have been finished. There is a continuation of the horizontal passage in the south wall of the lower chamber; there is also a pit dug in the floor of the chamber. Some Egyptologists suggest this Lower Chamber was intended to be the original burial chamber, but Pharaoh Khufu later changed his mind and wanted it to be higher up in the pyramid.[26]

At 28.2 metres (93 ft) from the entrance is a square hole in the roof of the Descending Passage. Originally concealed with a slab of stone, this is the beginning of the Ascending Passage. The Ascending Passage is 39.3 metres (129 ft) long, as wide and high as the Descending Passage and slopes up at almost precisely the same angle. The lower end of the Ascending Passage is closed by three huge blocks of granite, each about 1.5 metres (4.9 ft) long. At the start of the Grand Gallery on the right-hand side there is a hole cut in the wall (and now blocked by chicken wire). This is the start of a vertical shaft which follows an irregular path through the masonry of the pyramid to join the Descending Passage. Also at the start of the Grand Gallery there is a Horizontal Passage leading to the "Queen's Chamber". The passage is 1.1m (3'8") high for most of its length, but near the chamber there is a step in the floor, after which the passage is 1.73 metres (5.7 ft) high.

and hre is a ziggurat (pyramid) that was built in mesopotamian times. it is known to be part of a temple complex but no one really knows for certain why it was built. perhaps, just maybe, under the cirucmstances, given that the experts themselves have no definitive answers, it might be best to keep an open mind as to the intended purpose of these things, right?

okay. now that we’ve demonstrated that you are not an expert on pyramid design, history, and intended purpose, (see, posts above), i’d like to ask you this: why do you behave this way on the ORG? my questions arises from the interactions that you and I have had lately, exchanges in which you attempt to disqualify my opinions, and the opinions of others, on topics about which even the experts have no final answers. take for example your posts here. even though you do not really know about the pyramids, you show up on this thread and make digs at other people’s creative ideas. so i’m curious. why do you do this?

i didn't even know there are pyramids here in the USA boxed

http://discovermagazine.c...d-builders

a thousand years ago, no one could have missed Cahokia—a complex, sophisticated society with an urban center, satellite villages, and as many as 50,000 people in all. Thatched-roof houses lined the central plazas. Merchants swapped copper, mica, and seashells from as far away as the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico. Thousands of cooking fires burned night and day. And between A.D. 1000 and 1300, Cahokians built more than 120 earthen mounds as landmarks, tombs, and ceremonial platforms. The largest of these monuments, now called Monks Mound, still dominates the site. It is a flat-topped pyramid of dirt that covers more than 14 acres and once supported a 5,000-square-foot temple. Monks Mound is bigger than any of the three great pyramids at Giza outside Cairo. “This is the third or fourth biggest pyramid in the world, in terms of volume,” says archaeologist Tim Pauketat of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It towers 100 feet over a 40-acre plaza that was surrounded by lesser mounds and a two-mile-long stockade. The monument was the crowning achievement of a mound-building culture that began thousands of years earlier and was never duplicated on this continent.

Because acknowledging that there were sophisticated pre-Columbian civilizations in North America would debunk the myth of "savages" roaming around in tee-pees half-naked, just begging for white men to make them "civilized".

It doesn't need debunking. Anyone who can chew gum and breathe at the same time KNOWS the lies that have been told and that are reinforced every single day. The lies are being exposed.
