I have problems with this movie and the fact that you would not need a test to know this guy is not human, but I certainly loved his performance

So judging by your avie...you must have sci-fi faves & dislikes, no? (besides Alien)

I'm an old skool trekkie so he's one of my faves...

Would these creepy crawlies qualify as villains? They made my skin crawl and my ears hurt... shake

Absolute worst Star Trek villain??? disbelief lol I usually give the old show a pass because of the era, but damn guys... this was just sad. neutral

It's not so lovely for the people sitting there though. They're about to be crushed by the planet in the background!

The movie is Melancholia and it's truly great. Best movie I've seen in a long time.

Let's not forget that Mad Max and Road Warrior are science fiction as well. And some damn good bad guys.

omg

I had no idea what that movie was all about. They really did a bad job promoting it.

Cool though, thanks! Now I want to see it. nod

Well it might not be what you think. It's totally unlike any other end-of-the-world movie. In fact the first half of the movie is about a wedding and although it does give you a feeling of impending doom, it is of another kind that doesn't have anything to do with the planet. The other half, that does focus more on the planet, is slow-burn and poetic. So don't expect Armaggedon 2. It's a whole different type of story.

I don't seem to be able to find a better image, but I found this guy a little disturbing even though movie wasn't memorable. I just imagined what would happen to my brain if something like that were to reached down and pick me up.

Too bad, you didn't include Fantasy films, I would have included Tim Curry's brilliant potrayal of the Lord of Darkness in Legend:

[img:$uid]http://www.thornefeather.com/images/tim_as_darkness.jpg[/img:$uid]

Tim Curry is awesome.

He frightened me when I saw this movie. Yet, I saw vulnerability in him which made him a tad sexy. I must say he transformed Lily into a hottie. She looked way better with a touch of evil. You should post that dance sequence in which Darkness sends a faceless figure clothed in black to seduce the innocent Lily. It's actually a beautiful scene....until dude emerges from the mirror hoof first.
