Nope.

I've only had it once, in Minneapolis. It made violently ill. I mean, in all fairness whenever I eat in the US I get sick but this shit made me seriously sick.

So, never again.

What year was it when you had your first and only trip to Taco Bell?

It's only when you leave the US do you realize the food isn't higher in grade than dog food. I've all but stopped eating anything from franchise restaurants.

As far as Taco Bell, I always thought Latino's should've sued the company for "defamation of our culinary culture." lol

Hi ya Tony welcome back. biggrin

I knew it! IMO, the quality of Taco Bell started to fall off after 1993.

I'd say 20 yrs ago I really liked their taco supremes. Even their bacon cheeseburger tacos, but that was over 20 yrs ago, heck I was pregnant with my son. There was another taco at that time i use to like but it's been long gone. I don't like them so much any more.

I hate to sound like a snob, but if you've ever lived in the American Southwest, Taco Bell is dog food. Chipotle is a little closer to actual food

If you're in Kansas or Louisiana, there are Taco Tico locations! biggrin Taco Tico is underrated and it's a shame that fast food clain didn't have mainstream success as Taco Bell did.

I first had Taco Bell in college - it was good.

It seriously downgraded in quality around the time that they changed the chips from fried corn tortillas to greasy flour wafers.

I once went down to Texas and ate at Taco Bueno. drool

Definitely better than the Bell.

lol I was born in 1985. I'd have to ask my dad. When I was younger back in the 90s, that was the SPOT, though. Nacho Grande wasn't just a sad li'l display of chips and cheese, a burrito was a burrito, eek BATMAN 1989 CUP!!!

lol I nagged and nagged until my dad got me one. I lost my first tooth eating a hard-shell taco. That traumatized me, so I ate nothing but soft shell tacos. And then one day in 1997 I was like..."screw this" 'cause they changed the portions and added a lot of...salt or something. I dunno. Maybe it was just the one around my house. I decline from being a great one to a SUPER ghetto one with a bored staff.

I moved on to the McDonald's across the street and never looked back. If I didn't think it would tear my stomach up, I would go to Taco Bell for old times. Their sauces made the best fake blood. eek

nod

I don't know if they've chnaged since 1997, but if I ever find myself in Texas again, that's the first place I'm gonna hit.

yes. Back when the meat didn't come premade in a bag. And the green sauce ROCKED and you got the quesadilla without that jalapeno shit on it and they had the bell beefer. Taco Bell was the best back in the day nod

Is US-American food that different from Canadian-American food? I mean, you do have almost the same fast food chains, don´t you? What is so different about US food?

There IS a difference between European fast food chains and American ones ( the taste is pretty much the same but American beef contains hormones that aren´t used in Europe) and the hygiene standards, especially in Germany, are pretty high, and of course there are slight menu differences but what exactly is it about American food that makes you sick?

Just curious.

Anytime there was a day we didn't have school my childhood bestfriend and I would walk there and feel like we were going to Disney World

If you will, so will I

You mean lower quality meats being used in US fast food chains as compared to Canadian food standards?
