Headphones

Don't know much about headphones, but going through the music forums I realised a (semiprofessional) set of headphones can turn your attention to music way back in the mix you've never heard before on songs you're familiar with. Which headphones would you advise?

Also, I was wondering if headphones could fix my hearing problem. I have a 40% hearing loss on low tones (my right ear only). Are there any headphones out there that allow people like me to kind of adjust the way tones reach my ears?

Thanks!

Earphones too?

If so, i'd recommend these.

Graycap23,

Thanks for your recommendation. How would you describe your listening experience using these headphones?

love,

I own several pair of headphones. I'd say these are my favorite 4 accurate sound and detail.

Sennheiser headphones are truly top of the line. I have these ones that have excellent sound and great noise-reduction, and they're very comfortable too:

They're the best ones I've ever had, by far.

Oh, and they're the around-the-ear kind, which is the only way to go if you ask me.

I´ve heard A LOT of good things about the KOSS Porta Pro, so I got these here, basically the same as the Porta Pro but with a little bit more bass, and I´m quite happy soundwise. The design sucks and looks very cheap but the sound is great. [img:$uid]http://www.audigo.cz/img/big/73683-koss-sporta-pro.jpg[/img:$uid]

I used to use AKG's but now I have some Audio Technicas. I think those are flat response, so maybe not perfect for average listening (more for studio). But I do like them. They are not overly strong in any frequency, where I find a lot of headphones have too much treble or too much bass or scooped mids.

I find I need to try them on, too, for comfort. My big ol' Dumbo ears ache if the cups are too tight for an extended period of time.

I saw on YT that there are MANY fake Koss Porta Pros out there. The whole packaging and look is very similar. Make sure you get them from a licensed dealer.

No, I never tried Sport Pro's but since you mentioned them, I'll check them out. All this paying $200.00 $300.00 for some headphones is for the birds... straight up hype. Porta Pros can hang with the overly price headphones and you're right beware of the fakes. nod
