Spike Lee vs Floyd Mayweather on Jeremy Lin
Lin-sanity is sweeping the nation! Another chapter was added in the story of New York Knicks star Jeremy Lin when the 23-year-old nailed a miracle final-second 3-point shot with 0.5 seconds to play against the Raptors on Tuesday.
“Floyd Mayweather I Hope You Watched Jeremy Hit The Gamewinning 3 Pointer With .005 Seconds Left. Our Guy Can BALL PLAIN AND SIMPLE.RECOGNIZE,” Lee tweeted after Lin hit a game-winning shot.
LINK: SPIKE LEE SENDS THANK YOU TEXT TO THE COACH THAT CUT JEREMY LIN BEFORE SEEING HIM PLAY “Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise,” wrote boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. on his Twitter account on Monday (February 13) afternoon.
Lee sounded off with a tweet of his own: “Floyd Mayweather Sounds Like Rush Limbaugh When He Talks About Jeremy Lin Saying He’s Only Getting Attention Because He’s Asian. WAKE UP YO.”
Whats your take? [Edited 2/15/12 21:12pm] Change it one more time..

Then New York Knicks needs players that can play, and that's all there is to it. Lin has the skills to play, so I don't see the problem.Maybe he can help the Knicks win a championship. We shall see.

I agree that Mayweather is probably being his usual arrogant self but i don't care to hear chatter from Spike Lee on the matter because if this kid was playing for a team other than the KNICKS TEAM THAT SPIKE ROOTS FOR he may have agreed with Floyd. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

^^ true that. But it just so happens that Spike is right on this one. Unfortunately, racism is alive and well and it flows in ALL directions. Maybe sports brings it out even more because sports encourages an "us versus them" atmosphere, which is maybe why Spike is seeing Lin as "one of us" these days. Or maybe he's just "doing the right thing.' See http://www.washingtonpost...tional_pop
Here's info from wikipedia: Sean Gregory of Time wrote of Lin's zero Division I scholarship offers: "[Lin] was scrawny, but don't doubt that a little racial profiling, intentional or otherwise, contributed to his underrecruitment."[132] Diepenbrock stated, "If [Lin] was African American or Caucasian, it might have been a different deal."[133] Lin said: "I'm not saying top-5 state automatically gets you offers, but I do think (my ethnicity) did affect the way coaches recruited me. I think if I were a different race, I would've been treated differently."[134] Walters added, "People who don't think stereotypes exist are crazy. If [Lin's] white, he's either a good shooter or heady. If he's Asian, he's good at math. We're not taking him."[

Lin has major skills. Being Asian only adds 2 his unique factor.

There you go.
People are not going to ignore the fact that he is Asian. But sports are not like music, where someone might achieve more because of that uniqueness factor.
In sports you have to perform to succeed. My Legacy

LOL it is ironic, because it's almost exactly what Limbaugh said. I am not a huge Spike fan, but he is dead on here. My Legacy

Nah but I did see his ugly old mug on the previews of the show... Spike always rubbed me the wrong way. Love his classic films (like Do the Right Thing) but dude is fucking annoying.

Both of these cats can fuck off for all I care. Spike is supposed to be Mr. Knick Fan, but he kisses Jordan's ass all the time. Fraud.

Mayweather is an idiot. Who comes out as a debut starter and has 136 points the first 5 games? It's all about his skills fool!

Mayweather isn't too bright. He passed up Chili for some chick that showed her cooch and anus on twitter. At least she waxes. And her bod is nice even if its made of silicone. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
