Anybody remember McDonald's pizza?

The title says it all.

When I was a kid, I remember my parents would bring home a pizza from McDonald's at least once a week when my cousin came to visit (back in the 90's). I remember liking it.

Anyone else feel nostaligic for that?

I wonder why they stopped selling it...

wave Man its nostalgia for fast food today.

I sort of remember it but I thought it was some special offering and not a regular menu choice like that Leprechaun milkshake they had.

The McDonald's in my town is a rest stop off the Garden State Parkway.

They have all kinds of things in there. nod

I only had it once, but didn't really like it.

I think it was a test market kind of thing, where it was not available everywhere.

So I seem to remember hearing about it, but I never actually saw it available.

Those shamrock shakes were dee-lish.

McDonald's has the best shakes and fries hands down.

I liked their chicken nuggets as a kid but now that I know its not really chicken but some alien pink goop, I avoid them.

McDonalds and Burger King both sold pizza in the early 90s for a couple of years. McDonalds lasted longer and from my recollection they had both personal pizzas and full size pizza. BK ripped off the gimmick and was not as good. MCDs was actually not too bad but the trend kind of petered out and by 93 or 94 MCDS discontinued it.

That is a fabulous idea!!! Roller coasters that look like giant hot dogs and water rides that look like the containers french fries come in. You'd have to stand up for the water ride. lol

Spinning rides that look like cheeseburgers.

The Mcdlt was Mcd's version of the whopper-not as good but decent. You can still get it. Just get a quarter pounder w/cheese and add tomato, mayo and lettuce.

I don't remember the pizza. But are local Mcdonalds had the best soups. (Only 1 McDonalds carried it.) I believe they where restaurant quality soups made by Campbells-not the can kind you get in the stores.

Probably because it didn't sell just like their ribs didn't sell. I don't know why they keep coming out with all these different items throughout the years that aren't going to sell. It's not hard to understand, if people want pizza, they will go to a pizza joint, if people want ribs, they will go to a rib joint, etc. When people want hamburgers, they go to a hamburger joint.

The only off the wall thing they've had throughout all these years that stuck with them was the fish sandwich and the chicken nuggets. Apparently, the fish sandwich must sell enough for them to keep it but I see it doesn't sell very well though because everytime you order one, you have to "pull up to the yellow line" while they cook it. I remember when I used to go to lunch, a coworker of mine would always want me to bring her something back and it would always be the fish sandwich. I used to get so mad and say..."Dammitt, order something that normal folks order when they go to McDonald's! I don't want to have to pull up and wait on their ass to cook it!". lol

I remember that well and can tell you exactly when it was. It was the summer of 1985. I remember it well because I had just graduated high school and told my mother I was sick of going to school and fuck any other kind of school because I was finished with it. She told my ass...."Bastard, then you're gonna get your ass a job because you ain't gonna sit your grown ass up in here and freeload off my ass". McDonald's was my first job and the Mc DLT has just came out. I worked in that hellhole a month and decided to take my ass to business college real quick. lol

that's why it would have to be a museum type theme park. everyone knows that eating meat is totally 20th century. nowadays, we live in a world that has finally learned to love animals and their wonderful contributions. we eat quinoa instead of meat and feel better for it, too. heart

I remember driving to Ohio back in the day and there were two things I had never seen before, McPizza and drive-thru package stores. Eventually McPizza did go national, but it didn't last long in my area. I recall it tasting okay, not as good as Subway's pizza.

I think these restaurant chains experiment because they want to become a one-stop place for parties of two or more, so if a family of four is going out to eat and three of them want burgers and little Johnny wants pizza they all can order what they want at the same place.

As for the fish sandwich, it's an alternative for those who don't eat red meat and people have the perception the fish sandwich is healthier than greasy burgers. It's also a big seller on Fridays during Lent.
