lol Yeah I think if you don't know how to maintain cornrows you shouldn't have them. They helped in getting my hair in front thinning. neutral lol I just hope you do it right because no one wants to look like Stevie Wonder's hairline. lol

Well, if I wasn't doubting myself before... lol

lol Every time I see someone saying they have 'em, I always imagined saying "well look at Stevie Wonder, you seriously wanna look like that?" lol R. Kelly and Charlie Wilson thankfully cut that shit off (but Charlie's attempt to out-S Curl Jermaine is another story evillol ).

Yeah 1979-1981, 1993-1995 Stevie looked very nice (and cool) with the braids and his cornrow style in the '70s was groundbreaking but dude just looks stupid with it now. lol

But the thing is, if he knew what it looked like, he probably would have done away with it.
Blame the folks who aren't telling him that "a change in style might be in order". nod

He may keep the braids because he doesn't want to have to groom his own hair daily?

I had cornrows on-and-off between the ages of 17 to 21, so I still have a bunch of do-rags, but I don't need to wear them anymore.

I wrap my hair up at night... I think all women who straighten out their hair do that.

Heck my hair takes almost 3 hours to do so hell yeah Imma wrap it up do I don't wake up looking crunchy.

lol

Don't wear do-rags (cause aren't those for keeeping close cropped hair in a wave pattern?) but I tie a silk head scarf around my head every night to keep it straight and guard against split ends. I was just watching the movie Cadillac Records the other night with my guy, and he had a revelation when he saw Garielle Union onscreen playing a 1960's housewife-- that it wasn't just me who did this head wrap at night thing (his previous mates of color were usually dreadlocked or shaved head girlies) : I'm a creature of habit: come 10:30 every night I'm turning on Moonlighting and pulling out my head scarf like clockwork lol
