What do the English think of Austin Powers?

I just watched Goldmember on DVD and loved it (a little late, I know)! Any English orgers like the Austin Powers series? Any Scots want to weigh in on Fat-Bastard? Any Dutch want to comment on the revealing Goldmember caricature?

I'm not a black woman, but I would disguise myself as one if I could score with Foxy Cleopatra.

I have to say that I find Dr Evil's depiction of an power mad genius trying to take over the world entirely offensive and stereotypical.
strike me down with all of your hatred, and your journey to the darkside will be complete.

I'm not a black woman, but I thought her singing and dancing was better than her acting. I'd say that the exact opposite was true of Elizabeth Hurley.

As a fully paid up Limey I thought Austin Powers was funny. After all Mike Myers was brought up on British humour so he knew what he was doing.

Apparently the French love it.

Fat-Bastard, I would say, runs parallel to the Scottish stereotype. Sure, he may be ginger, fat and obnoxious, but we're not all fat!

In my opinion, I thought he was simply a weak character in an otherwise good series.

Did like the neck/vagina joke though at the end though.

I liked Austin Powers. The Spy Who Shagged Me is the best of the 3 in my opinion.

Sometimes amusing. I like him with Madonnas ass being rubbed on his head best.
