The one with (or about) Katt Williams was great too. Tony roberts. Also, Jamie tells a funny story about Terry Crews and a randon ho with Shawn Wayans. PRINCE: Always and Forever

I like Kevin Hart. He and Jamie both were getting some pretty good jabs in. Even with all the jokes though, sounded like there was a lot of love and respect for one another in that room. This was a pretty funny clip.

Self-hatred masquerading as entertainment. It's not that serious, it's just comedy. PRINCE: Always and Forever

I know what it's labeled as. Look, I get the dozens, snappin', jonin' and all that. I grew up with it and doing it.
But "you're too black to work." In 2012?
Naw...
"You're black!" as a joke is some racist nonsense, regardless of who's saying it, in my opinion.
That's Birth of a Nation in disguise.
But, oh well. It's just comedy.

I thought it was funny. It ain't like Kramer's unfunny ass...
Black comedy has always had tendencies to be like that for...ever it seems with few exceptions (Bill Cosby, Dick Gregory, etc.)
So I guess if you're offended - and you got every right to feel that you are - then it ain't for you. I mean I generally don't like much of Jamie but I do love his roasts.
But it's all good. | |

Even Dick Gegory does nigha jokes, lol.
Bill Cosby and Sinbad. PRINCE: Always and Forever

Yeah that's true. But I always thought he was more politically conscious with his "nigra jokes". But yeah Bill and Sinbad are about the only ones who did comedy without cussing like sailors. The fact that Bill cuss every now and then made him even funnier to me.
"So I said, 'Uh tell me, what is it about cocaine that makes it so wonderful?' So the guy says 'well it intensifies your personality' So I said 'yes but what if you're an asshole?'"

Like I said, I get comedy and I get two folks cutting on each other. They're funny comics snappin'.
The industry-black dynamic in this exchange, though, seemed regressive.

why are people willin to see all that is REGRESSIVE about whut a black man does, YET be so blind as to where real racism lies? negroes have a prollum with niggas because that's who the white man has a prollum with. and again a nigga is anyone who is a have-not in todays society, just that we (blacks) drove that point home.
so, when there are those who can't accept this as whut it is why bring their blues to whut is nothin more than a hellarious situation...
by the way why would any of this matter to POMADE, the stuff used to make nigga hair lay down??? it's not really a job

I raise this issue because I think it's worth considering how people take on hatred and pass it on to each other. Too often we do that, obscuring with the grease of oppression our own natural beauty.
As you might have figured, I chose this name and related avatars as a nod to that practice for much the same reason. I'm sure you can relate to the joys of a humorous screen name, your majesty.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!
that's the beauty of which i speak, people have gotten so tied up on words that they forget " a rose by any name..." so, when we talk in the way we do it's mostly to show that it is NOT injurous to us, and with it bein NOT injurous to us it becomes uncomfterable to those who meant it to be forever injurous... SO WE LAUGH and laff and laff this is how one rises above the negative in our world i am KING BAD!!!

SO WE LAUGH and laff and laff this is how one rises above the negative in our world I get the concept. I just wonder, especially with Jamie's success, why he doesn't use his platform for more. My thoughts are of Belafonte, Poitier, Ossie and Robeson, men who didn't rise as high but somehow stand taller. Maybe elevation is outmoded.

they are from the time of the NEGROE and COLORED PEOPLE, there'ss nothin wrong with that, if they accept that ther's nothin wrong with bein US, just as we are. i don't look to turn the other cheek but then again, i find less to be violent about these days, when it come to racial differences, because my voice is just as strong as any voice that rises against me, yet there are many that stand with me in mine. comedian or militant, we all have a good laff at the end of the day... i am KING BAD!!!

U know they in da closet...bout we gonna teabag you. What's up with dat? I don't know who the woman is in this but she was like.......what!!!! "I know that living with u baby, was sometimes hard...but I'm willing 2 give it another try.
Cause nothing compares....nothing compares 2 u!"

Yeah, I know they were different times, but some things still persist. In light of that, my preference would be to see those comedians not perpetuate the same opposition you're talking about.
But, hey, they're grown men. That aside, I agree with a lot of what you're saying.
