Did You Ever Have Someone That You Did Not Know Send You A Text Message?

This happened to me just yesterday. I got a text from a random chick (I think it was a female) and I opened it, even though I did not recognize the number of where it originated from. I thought maybe it was a friend of mine or something. Turns out it wasn't. lol

The person texted me and said, "Hey" with a little wink emoticon. I texted back and said, "Who is this? I don't recognize the number?" The person texted me back and said, "The person you just talked to". I texted back, "Umm, I think you have the wrong number, because I haven't talked to anyone on this phone all day." Then she has the nerve to text me again, asking me if I'm a guy!! LOL - WTF?? lol I texted her back and told her, "I'm not getting into a long winded conversation with you, since I don't know you, and you obviously have the wrong number. Please stop texting me." She texted me back and said, "Kk."

Sheesh, why is is that I always get the wackos bothering me? Leave me alone, wacko! LOL! Oh, and get this, the area code where these texts were coming from was 319. I kid you not. lol Maybe it's Prince who's texting me, pretending to be a female - LOL!! Of course, I know that that's not true. I'm just trying to inject some humor into the situation. lol

I'm sure, in the age of cell phones, that I'm not the only one who has had this happen to them. I would like to hear your stories, if you have any to share. I imagine they would be funny, since the person who sent them did not know that they had the wrong number. lol

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Lesson learned here: Don't open a text message when you don't recognize the number. lol But I honestly thought it was one of my org friends who was texting me.

All the damn TIME!

I get phone calls from numbers with LA, Las Vegas and New York area codes and I don't know WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE!!! eek

I've had voice mails for a woman who apparently had an appointment with Kaiser Permanente, and for another woman from a hairsalon, reminding her it's time to get her hair rebraided.

And texts...well, they just get creepier and creepier. One was like "hey baby, you home?" eek

Strange thing is, we don't seem to have many 711 stores in this area anymore. They kind of went away, for some reason. So I've never tried their Slurpees, but they sound delicious.

falloff That is creepy! I had an old dude who would mistakenly call my cell phone and leave a message. He would NEVER leave his name, he would just say, "Call me". I haven't received a voice mail from him a couple of years. I wonder if maybe he passed away.

Very odd that you post this topic because just YESTERDAY I received a text from a stranger saying "How are you?" and I wrote back "Hey, sorry I don't have your number saved to my phone, who is this?" (thinking that it's someone I knew but who's number I just didnt have) and they wrote back something to the effect of "I want you to breed me" eek eek eek eek eek and I'm thinking "WHAAAT?? WTF???" so I wrote back "Ummm I think you have the wrong number. Please don't txt me again". And they just said "Ok"... but Im still kinda confused. Why would someone txt that. I dont ever understand what that means. And did they just randomly text me?? People are weird.

Change it one more time..

I get them ALL of the time AND phonecalls.

I got a text last year telling me "Happy Father's Day!!!" confused

I got a few phonecalls from a person and I kept telling them they had the wrong phone number dude proceeded to call me back right afterwards to where I screamed in the phone "WHAT?!" and he hesitated to say something but asked for the same person again. I told him you have the wrong number and he didn't call back.

ANOTHER time was when I was in my aunts car and someone called and when my sister called back some dude came on and sai "It's your uncle Rufus" {or some country bumpkin name like that falloff} my sister and I was cracking up because none of my uncles had my cell phone number and I have no uncle {that I'm aware of} named Rufus. lol

For over a year I was getting some other person's emails. it was a cooperate email from where I work but not my department or site. Several were meeting or training notices. Each time i noticed one I would send an email back telling them they have the wrong person. Never got a reply baak. One day it was a threatening email about having missed 3 mandatory training (each of which I had gotten a notice of and each I replied that I was not the person they wanted) it said I was going to be fired!

So I call the guy and the dude argues with me! Says I am the one that I better show up! I said "look at your caller ID... what does it say?" He names my site. Then he says "oh... well what is his email..." i swore and said "How should I know?" He said he was going to tell my supervisor. I told him her name and gave him her name and transferred him to her office.

She asked me what it was all about. I said "he think I word for him" she said "he was an ass hole"
