I can see why people dislike the film, you do have to root for some scumbag characters. And then of course the killing of major characters!

What did you think of Alien: Ressurection?

It is in the same vein as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Cyrstal Skull--a Hollywood popcorn thriller through-and-through.

It's like 20Ten, you know? At a quick glance/listen it has enough bells and whistles for you to take note and recognize it. But upon closer srutiny it appears empty. And, ultimately it reminds you of better times wth better material.

The solution to making a good alien movie is not to just keep throwing in new surprise version fo the creature ( the queen in 2, the dog-alien in 3, and the big-pussy mayonaise covered hog-nose thing in 4), but to actually solve and answer some questions the first movie posed. And, this....is....why....I'm actually anticipating Prometheus.

It pissed me off that Alien Resurrection was not more scary. They had the budget and the CGI, and the rating for it.

Of course, it's still better than the AVP movies. lol

If ever they reboot the franchise, I hope the return to Alien 3 and rethink the story.

My theory on how the plot should have been in Alien3: I always thought that Ripley character should wake up in the hospital bay, perhaps 3 days a sleep on the space station above earth. Aliens start taking over sections of the station. Ripley amounts an attack-fails and abandons station to blow it up. And escapes with an Alien on board her escape pod headed toward earth.

That end was SOME BULLSHIT lol

And then how Becky was really with David, and Darlene was really with Mark the whole time?

And Jackie was a lesbian to? neutral lol

That was a huge wtf ending

I refuse to follow the story line in the last episode of Roseanne. Utter garbage. Could she not put Dan out in Alaska working on a fishing boat. So we could keep him alive?

So it's been said already but here's my list:

James on Good Times

Edith on All in the Family

George on Grey's Anatomy

Dan on Roseanne (How could they kill off one of the most lovable Dads of all time?!!!)

That james evans one sad when i watched Good Times on TV Land! i loved it & was shocked as a little kid at his death.

...The Omar Little death on "The Wire" didn't really surprise me because of the way he was living. I'd actually have been more surprised if he didn't die. But yeah, the fact that they had a little kid finish him off was very left-field and wtf-ish. It actually annoyed me because I thought it was such a shitty end not worthy of such a cool character.

I remember reading someplace though that the writers finished him off that way on purpose because they'd heard that the character had developed such a strong fanbase/following and they were concerned that younger people were looking up to him and glorifying him. Then they made sure to have Omar's death mentioned as a brief afterthought in one of the subsequent episodes to try and reiterate that the guy wasn't a hero and that's not the kind of life you want to lead and that he was basically a loser.

But I loved the character, probably my favorite on the series besides Marlo...who gives me heart palpitations.

I guess I can understand that but I was such a fan of that show and I was highly I tell you HIGHLY upset when Omar got killed by a little boy. I never ever go to fan sites but I went to HBO and bitched all day. lol I kept saying it was a trick! I didn't care how it ended after Omar was gone.

I was really stunned by it as well.

The last two shows (part of a single series if I can remember) were strangely heart warming and touching. The laughs were sparse, but the characters really opened up and softened a bit.

Then the very last part (I believe the last 10 or 15 minutes) if I can remember talks about

Dan dying "last year", and the scene flashes started to make sense (they were reflections).

And they ended the show with Rossanne sitting on the couch alone. She'd reached a place

of peace and appeared ready to move on, but it was still strangely....sad.

I liked the show. I appreciate she tried to do something different. But it was sort of shocking.

The entire final season of Roseanne was quite odd. First of all, Roseanne Barr was told her show was about to be canceled after season 8, so she essentially had an ending for that season which wrapped up the series, but ABC changed their mind at the last minute and brought the show back, yet insisted that some of the supporting charaters, including John Goodman, be cut from the show to save on costs. In addition to that, Roseanne and ABC had huge creative differences in the direction of the show, with Roseanne wanting her character and her son DJ to move to south central Los Angeles and trying to adjust to life on the West Coast after it would be revealed that her husband Dan died offscreen, but ABC insisted on the "Roseanne wins the lottery" storyline. So the entire final season went totally against the whole theme of the series which preceeded it, and the episodes pretty much sucked as a result. The final episode was about what Roseanne wanted to have happen for the final season, but she had to shoehorn the whole lottery thing into the script.

Yeah the lottery thing is when Roseanne really jumped the shark. But even before that the show was losing its luster. It was never the same after Becky got married and left. And I always hated her replacement, Sara Chalke. Blech!

I dunno if anyone watched the Terminator show. It was better than the last two movies, at least.

Anyway, I thought it was pretty shocking when they just capped Derek Reese in the head like some extra. It was at that point I realized I cared more about the characters on that show than I was ever expecting.

Of course it got cancelled like 3 episodes later.

But you have to give props how Rosanne was always acknowledging that she wasnt the "real" Becky.
