Anyways, this person is very gay. I mean it's evident in his mannuerisms, his voice,

and most of all, his eyes.

I already knew he was feminine from having met him last year, but knew more than that

when the subject of a ladyboy came up between me and a female friend of mine.

Immediately after having spoken about it, I notice that this guy become very unfomfortable

(he's eyes burned with a fierce uncomfortable intensity), and he could barely sit through

my defense of ladyboys. My entire stance was that they already know from a very early

age that they are the 'third sex', and Thais allow and accept them as such, so why do Thais

make them dress as boys in grade school? Why can't they just dress as they'd like?

They don't get harassed or picked on for doing it, so why not?

Anyways, I just assumed that being in his 20s, he was very uncomfortable discussing

his seuxality---I mean, I'm 40 and I wont' discuss my own publically.

But I get befriended by him on facebook last week (he's back in the states now), and

I noticed that he had some post about helping gays turn straight or some rediculous

nonsense.

He also sent out an link to his blog to several of us, and out of curiousity because

I love to read blogs, I went there.

I was absolutely appalled by what I read. Apparently on day, while at the Uni, one

of the girls in class made a joke about another girl who was obviously a lesbian.

The entire class laughed and joined in with the joking.

What appalled this guy was not that they were joking, but the fact that the jokes

were coming from a place of acceptance--much like joking with a friend because she's

clumbsy, or does something endearing to make you laugh. To him, homosexuality

is a sin against god and no joking matter.

He then went on to criticize Thailand for and Thais for having a relaxed attitude towards

sexual orientation.

.... But I am 100% sure this kid is gay. I mean, I've never been more sure of anything

in my entire life.

I don't want him to 'come out' or anything like that. I just think he should not be

spreading hatred of homosexuality when at his age, apparently thinking 'it's a choice', (and

he uses those words) is dangerous.

It's utterly bizarre. He's even looking to 'get married' to a woman.

Do you know anyone who is absolutely gay but believes they are straight through the grace of

God or whatever?

I just think this kid is a ticking timebomb ala Ted Haggard proportions.

Interesting but I'm not fully sure he's gay. He may really believe he can convert people or maybe is just posting stuff to get a reaction out of you and others.

This does belong in P&R because you're asking about gay people being converted to straight via belief in God and/or religion and you've emphasized his religious leanings.

Let's say he didn't have the religious angle and just felt that people could change. Would he still be a ticking timebomb? Unless he becomes and uber conservative politician or engages in back door exorcisms then he's not much threat to anybody but himself and his future family and that's a maybe depending on how radical his views are.

I say continue to be friends with him and engage in healthy dialect. If his views are unchanged by age 25 then you will know he's straight and you just have to accept his preferences and agree to disagree or you will have to unfriend him.
