Some advice...?

So, I am having a really damn hard decision to make and I feel completely confused. I really don't know what to do sad

So, this year I'm going to graduate from high school and it's the right time to pick up the university.

I've always wanted to study English, I really love it and one day I'd like to become perfect... BUT there's one thing that is really bothering me...

For like a week or something my grandma's been lying in the hospital because of her severe condition. And I've been observing the nurses working there, in the hospital and I thought that it's something for me, that's the job I want to do.

Idk, it's never been my biggest dream or something, but my mum's a nurse and it's kind of natural for me... Besides I was watching those ill people today and nurses who were there for them all the time and it was so cool. I mean, helping people, watching their recovery, it's really amazing.

Of course I know it's really hard to work at this job because you have to face death all the time. My best friend claims I'm too sensitive to become a nurse and advises me to become a translator like i've always wanted. But now I really don't know what to do!

Could u guys write ur opinions about that? I'd really appreciate that <3

Talk to a career counsellor, talk to people who work in what interests you, arrange with an employer to be on their work site "shadowing" one of their employees.

Ask your school if there are any bursuries and other awards monies you can apply for. Usually you do not have to pay these back. Most folks are not aware this exists.

You might come across more old, acrimonious folks as a nurse than a translator.

This is very good advice.

If you decide to pursue a career as a nurse, please be a caring, compasstionate nurse. We need more like that. We need more that are willing to do the work. I say this because I have seen many that are not. Good luck.

Why not get a double major, and get degrees in both if possible?
