Jalepeno status.

I make an effort to visit whenever I'm in the Twin Cities.

The one on Lake Street is quite famous.

There was an old documentary about it on the local news. I have a family friend who has it on VHS.

I'm sure somebody from the area might know what I'm talking about.

You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

Sorry for the exclusivity of this thread...but for those of you who've had this American phenomenon known as "White Castle" and their greasy little belly-bombers...

Do you LIKE them or DISLIKE them?

What say you, my fellow orgers?

like them. nod

i have a couple of packages in my freezer as i key in these words.

however when times are rough, i go to the bread store in my area and buy some roles shaped like the white castel buns.

1. get some burger and 1 onion. cut up some cheese 1/2" x 1/2'.

2. cook the pre-seasoned burger with the fine sized square chopped onion.

3. before putting the burger in the oven i press it into a large squre shape.

4. when burger done, after cooling i cut it into squares

5. i then place done burger with the cheese square onto the bun/roll. (looks just like the pix)

6. i then put two per into a sandwich sized zip lock bag. i freeze half and put the other half into the non-freezer section.

yep i'm a country survivor kinda lady. my home castles are appreciated around here plus far less chemicals and a lot of love.

They're gooood.

When I was younger, I LOVED the cheeseburgers with the pickles. Now that you can get 'em frozen and take 'em home, ehhhh...I'm kinda done with them. My dad kept buying them over and freakin' over for a long period of time. Not only did my hips plot revenge, but my tastebuds were like "we're done" and they started to taste like plastic.

Ahhh...but fresh from the grill with a small Sprite and a tiny box of those salted fries.....mmmmm!!!!

The only time I've ever had them, is the kind from the frozen food section.

They're actually pretty good for a really basic burger but I prefer Wendy's.

In short - "Yay".

^The key with the frozen ones is not to over microwave and give them a minute for the steam to moisten the bun. Oh and dont open up a side of the plastic wrap. Just make a knife hole in the middle of the pack.

We didn't (and still don't) have White Castle restaurants in Virginia. The frozen burgers are sold in supermarkets here. I've had WC burgers in NYC. They really did a number on my belly, lol

In Virginia, we used to have a competitor called White Tower. Loved the fries there...

It's the South's version of White Castle. We've never had White Castles down here, only Krystals. However, they do sell White Castles in the frozen food department at the grocery store and they taste just like Krystals.
