Seal is already speaking out about the breaking up of his marriage to Heidi Klum, telling Tavis Smiley it will be handled civilly for the benefit of their kids.

Tavis asked Seal how he and Heidi can avoid the ugly break-up that has become prevalent among celebs, and he said, "We're just not those kind of people."

Seal said, "What one has to do in this situation is to remain civil, to retain one's dignity, to be professional, and to understand that we are not the only people on this planet that are going through this."

Seal's conversation with Tavis Smiley on PBS airs this Friday, January 27 on PBS.

Like all things related to marriage, taxes, medical insurance and the like, its complicated and in some cases varies from state to state. But yes, depending on whether or not they've done the paperwork to become legally seperated or not, and maybe even if they have, they could be bending some laws.

If they're doing everything above board it seems like they'd be safe, though.

My friends were not. They were doing things like keeping all the bank records and paycheck addresses under one address (even though they didn't live together) and filing their taxes jointly as a married couple, claiming all their children together. And that's just part of the mess they were runnin'. lol

The home they own together is one their grown daughter and her new husband live in. They have resided in different homes for a while now. They also have a grown son with a disability. Except legally, these people are not married.
