I've never breastfed a child before as I don't have kids but I'm not bothered by anyone that does it. If they want to do it in public, that's their business. But don't get pissed when people stare at you doing your business.

And on the flip side, don't get mad at me when I decide I DON'T want to breastfeed, in public or not. That's MY business.

I can totally respect your decision, but if you start putting down those who decide to do it, whether publicly or not, then there's a problem.

would you want to be stared at when you ate? Not that you could do much about it, but, how would you feel?

And that is not the issue. What is a big deal is when they owners think they can KICK a nursing mother out of the place.

I wouldn't stare because I simply don't care. Big whoop, you're breastfeeding your kid in public. Next. But how are you going to stop a 5 year old from staring or even some pervert trying to get their jollies? I'm sorry that people can't mind their own business. I would never tell anyone to cover up or to go elsewhere. It does suck that breasts are so sexualized but it is what it is. Kind of like when I was 10 years old with a full set of C cups. I couldn't stop boys and even grown ass men from staring at me.

To kick a nursing mother out is ridiculous. Does this happen a lot?

I would never put anyone down for breastfeeding because I'm not against it. The money saving alone would be enough to convince me to do it. Unfortunately, I don't believe breastfeeding will be an option for me because of medical issues. I've had friends make snap judgments against me because I've stated I won't be breastfeeding, implying that I wouldn't care as much for my children as they do theirs because the breast is best. Well, actually flat out saying it. I believe the comment made by my pregnant friend at the time was "I'm breastfeeding because I care about my child". Same friend knew of my medical condition and still made passive aggressive comments towards me about not breastfeeding.

Bottom line: Breastfeeding good for baby, good for pocketbook and I suppose in some cases, good for mom. Self-righteousness that SOMETIMES comes along with SOME nursing moms, not so good.

you can't. it is part of being in public. People may look at you.

I agree it is weird. It is part of life to some extent.

It happes. not sure how often but yeah. In fact a few weeks ago there was a nurse in at Target stores after one in Houston asked a woman to stop. And then Target blew off the complaints. Until a day or two before the protest but that was too little too late.

falloff I think this is your funniest post ever!

I think I remember this pic from a layout in Bazaar magazine. (I think the baby is Gabriel, Jerry's youngest who is close in age to the baby Mick had by a "Lingerie model")

Maybe because its in public. If you're out with your baby, I think you should bring a bottle just in case the baby cries. That way you dont have to breast feed in public, and you wont have to worry about exposing yourself, and or people getting offended.

Lucky there are LAWS protecting a mom's right tpo breast feed her baby in public. The idea that it might offend someone so they should lost the right to be out in public is NO DIFFERENT than banning a burn victim or an ugly person or any number of persons someone MIGHT rather not see.

Its completely different. They have their clothes on.

Also, because I'm not sure anybody has said this yet; if you do it, I'm going to look at you. I don't care if you breast feed in public. But if you do, I'm going to look. Particularly if you whip out your tits in the middle of a place where such a thing would normally never happen.

And don't think that covering yourself with something makes any difference. Everybody still knows what you're doing and most of the time you can hear that shit, too. Slurp, slurp, slurp. So please, by all means, handle your business. But don't even pretend like you have a right to get pissed off if somebody catches a view.
