It's a wonderful thing to find out you're a whole lot more self sufficient than you thought, and that your own happiness is not dependant on the approval of others.

And this should be true of all...
Our happiness must not be dependent on the presence nor actions of others.
One must learn to make oneself happy.
This is true even in a marriage if one is to make a success of it.
That does not mean one would be selfish. On the contrary,
lots of our happiness will come from being good to others.

The same could be said of material possessions...our expectation of
happiness should not revolve around possessions.

I, too, am still going through this process. Im at a point where I have realised this for a good deal of time and over the past 6 months, have experienced not depending on others in my circle of being.

Right now, I need to develop and cultivate self protection so that I can interact with those I have been dependant on, in an adult and safe manner.
