Ignorant people

Sorry but I got to let off some steam & please tell me I am not alone on this!! If I've ever met someone & spent time in their company, I will generally always remember them. If I can't recall their name I'll know where & when I know them from. I'm not talking just people you randomly meet, but folk you may have spent an evening with in company, or friend's boyfriends, past work colleagues etc.

Just had a meeting with a man who was my boss for 6months about 2 years ago. He hadn't a clue who I was & my full name was on a piece of paper in front of him. There were about 8 people in the staff when I worked under him, not hundreds! I kept addressing him by his first name, cuz I know him & he looked rather annoyed to be honest, as if I was a stranger to him. Grrr! An ex of my friend whom I must have met a dozen times over the years still acts like he doesn't know me from Adam whenever I have the misfortune of seeing him.

Yesterday I bumped into a girl at a restaurant with whom I spent a whole day at a wedding just 4 years ago & I remembered all about her but she was embarrassed cuz she didn't have a clue who I was! This happens soo many times in my life & I have to wonder are folk plain ignorant, thick as pig's shit or do I have such a forgettable face that I might as well wear a paper bag wi a drawn on smile?

Maybe it's because I genuinely like getting to know different people & give them my attention that I remember them. Plus I've got a good memory. Ah hell, has anyone else encountered this frustration?

I think your just more aware than some people. U actually stop and pause with people or just an amazing memory. wink Your probably a good listener as well with people, which i guess youd have to b due to your memory. That can b frustrating somethimes though cuz u can walk away thinking....where was I in that conversation?

im horrible with names as well. a face not so much but names i struggle.

Good idea PurpleJedi! lol Maybe it is just me having a good memory but it makes me feel like a total tube most of the time. I remember stuff from primary school that none of my friends can. For example my for years my pals thought I was tripping cuz I told them the Dali lama came to our school when we were 7. I can vividly remember being excited & then sitting in the school hall in front of him. Wasn't until years later that I met my teacher who confirmed this to be true. He had visited our school en route to the Buddhist centre on the Isle of Arran. Also the guy that played Darth Vadar came to our school to do the green cross code! Ha ha

I'm one oif these 'ignorant' people then.

I am totally, totally rubbish at remembering people's names and i'm even worse at remembering faces. It's caused embarrassment several times, but shrug what can I do? It's just the way my brain works.

I am horrific at remembering names which has caused me some unpleasant moments, but faces I've spent some time with I remember always. Placing the face might be an issue sometimes but I'll remember it.

I remember everybody! My first day of high school I bumped into a childhood friend.. Me and her were real close (at least I thought so) Hung out at each other's houses often. I saw her in the girls room and I was so excited, I'm like remember ME?!??! She said no, but a few days later my sister and I were walking together and she spoke to my sister! mad

A few years later we ended up working at the same company.. (my sister included) I ignored the FUCK outta her, and she went to my sister and said she was hurt that I wouldn't speak to her.. Bitch please! I'm still mad at her, only because I didn't have a lot of friends in school and she was popular and I can't seem to let that go.. lol

She Don't Speak..But She Remembers

It's also caused by getting old! I panic when I recognize someone's face, but can't remember their name. Invariabley this person will approach me, address me by name, and wait for me to introduce them to whomever I'm with. doh!

I'm terrible at remembering names and I forget people very quickly. I've always considered the later to be a gift. Got too much useless information up there already.

ha ha that's funny! I do that when I think "They don't look like an Ian, or a Craig etc" Someone once said I looked like a Kirsty. I don't think I look like a Kirsty!
