Those don´t look retro enough for me. They look like those hideous early 1980s cars.

I´m talking about THESE classics here:

Something sexy you know...something like those old classics, or those old 70s muscle cars but with a little modern twist.

We haven't gotten there yet.

I think that Cadillac is bringing back the "fins".

But the general public needs time to absorb it all in. Most car BUYERS (as opposed to fans) don't want something that looks exactly like a classic car. The novelty would wear off QUICK - just look at Chrysler's misses with the PT Cruiser or the Prowler. The PT Cruiser was freakin' CAR OF THE YEAR and after the novelty wore off, no one was buying them.

The idea of retro sort of disgusts me. It is sort of like they have given up in the styling department. The true great car companies would never crank out this bullshit, imagine a Ferrari or Porsche made to look like an older one. If you like old cars buy an older car.

Overall I would agree, but I will say there are times when they changed something I really liked, so I'm glad to see it come back.

I also like an updated retro done right. Unfortunately, so many times they're done oh so wrong.

Oh, don´t get me wrong, I don´t like those retro looking new cars. I prefer the old ones, the originals but they are either ridiculously expensive, or simply TOO old and difficult to fix.

I´m just saying that I like the old ones so much that I wonder why they don´t just rebuilt those old vintage cars, with exactly the same design, not that fake retro design, but maybe with more modern, cost efficient engines.

It is unrealistic but I bet there are many people who prefer style over speed.

I´d love to buy an older car and update it one day but I don´t know enough about cars.
