You get those in your yard?! Beautiful!
The most colorful birds I get are bluejays and cardinals.
But I love bald eagles! Such regal birds! I visited a raptor conservatory and witnessed their beauty...

Looking at this thread made me realize I don't even have a favorite bird. I like birds in general but it's never run that deep for me where I had a preference for certain types . 비

It's not something I think about... but when asked, the eagle popped in my head. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Oddly enough though, I like squirrels tons.
Earlier yesterday I ended up in some kinda weird staring contest with one - for the second time.
This time I lost. 비 | |

Bluejays nest in large pine trees, and my parents have an enourmous pine tree next door. I would always see them in the backyard.
Cardinals as well.
I can't say I have a "favorite bird" but I would love to be in New Zealand and have a Cassory just walk up and say "hi".

I love all birds.
I would say my favorite is the vulture.
They were misunderstood by idiots and nearly killed off before people realized that they killed gross parasites and therefore were "Good" not "Bad" birds.
If I had to be born again to this planet, would love to be a bird - only if it flies. Or a bat, bats are nice also. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

Can't say I have a favorire but I've wanted a blue parrot from the first moment I saw a live one. It was $20,000 though a bit out of my price range.

I wanna fly like an eagle, and soar above everything.
[img:$uid]http://duncraft.atom5.com/files/mockingbird(1).jpg[/img:$uid]
I'm sure I've seen a mockingbird before, but not the one that sings at night in an urban area. There was a bird that came around about four times during the spring in the last two years to sing around midnight. I wasn't aware that birds were up at night, beyond owls, and especially one so vocal, so it tripped me out at first. It made beautiful music, and I recorded it on camera. I was surprised when it returned the following year. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

African Grey, for sure. So incredibly intelligent that it's almost scary.
Followed closely by Red Tail Hawks. You can actually run into them like this around the Bay Area. Doing so very quickly illustrates how docile and meek most birds really are, because these guys are definitely not those things.

First Robin of Spring
and
the white dove is so beautiful to me.
i can see how prince may have gotten inspired to sing, 'this is what it sounds like when doves cry.' he probably really got inspired by watching this beautiful bird in flight. i would imagine most likely he owned some doves for a period in time. “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a
