I hate this time of day

I'm here at work. I'm the last one in so I'm the last one to leave. My co-workers are going home. I'm tired of squishing (_)(_) 's and I still have several more patients before I can go home.

sigh

I'm firmly planted in denial

If I were by myself that would be great, and sometimes, it is okay because all the patients are done, but on a day like today.

:ick:

BUT! It's over now!! whew I get to go home soon!

I really don't have sympathy for that.
you're a nurse. When I come in for a mammogram,
I REALLY HOPE the technician is not on the internet
Complaining that she has to DO several more patients.

Wow, if I knew who you worked for I'd report you in a minute.

Unbelievable!

Wow... here.... martini

I'd love to be your boss. Being perfect like you are, you must be an absolute joy to work with.

Frankly, if you came in as a patient you wouldn't even know how I was feeling. It's a 10 minute exam and I'd have you on your way before you had a chance to notice that you were my first or 15th patient of the day.

As for my boss, she laughed when she saw my post and as a mammo tech herself knew exactly how I felt. See, because I didn't come online and post while the clinic was busy, I came in during a break at the end of the day, which I am allowed to do.

The next time you go in for your mammogram, if you even bother to, and you complain to your tech that they hurt...which we know... or that if a man had to have the exam they'd find a new way to do it...which we've heard for the umpteenth time today alone...or how cold it is...which we have no control over because the hospital sets the thermostat, or you ask me, "Is this really all you do all day", or you ask your tech does the exam look okay eventhough you already know the tech cannot tell you...Think about this post.

Nurses, which I am not, technologists, which I am, and EVERYONE that works at any hospital or clinic you go to are human beings who often go above and beyond the call.

Good work ethic?

Yeah, we got them, but being human, I am at times ready to be away from my job.

Man do I know that feeling! UGH!!

I don't come online then though, I do try to sleep. Sometimes I wish I could get up and catch up on some housework or something, but a) I'm tired and b) I'm afraid I'll wake someone up.

First of all, where did I say or even give you the impression that I'm perfect? I'm far from that. lol

And yes, I was more harsh with you than I should have been. But I had a bad experience with

a mammo tech last year that actually told me that she thought I had cancer. It turned out to be

a sweat gland under my arm, but in the mean time I was rather nervous thinking that she was

right. I was told by my doctor after the results came back, that it was not in her place to say

something like that, as it hadn't been officially read yet.

I realize that that won't excuse me in your mind, but that was what was on my mind when

I saw your post.

And honestly, I don't think you necessarily have to work in the medical field to understand that

jobs...no matter what they are...can be stressful and boring a lot of times. You kind of contradicted

yourself in your post by saying "it's like any other job", and then saying that "unless you have

worked in the medical community you will never understand". So I take it that you have then.

Being on the Internet to complain about herself being tired...but that's irrelevant now anyway.

Not every job are you allowed to be on the internet... and usually for good reason...because in

some cases people really are slacking off and not getting their jobs done. And I'm just speaking

generally here.

Oh, and for the record I do know the difference. That was just a slip of the tongue, nonthinking

comment.

I didn't really see anything in my comment for which you needed to defend yourself.

But then again we're two different people and look at things differently....

Nobody in discussion even knows me... I haven't posted in here much until just recently.

But now after seeing all the unfair comments people made to me without even having

any clue as to what I'm about... just assuming they "know my kind" or some such irrational

thing.. I can see a pack mentality going on at times. And because I don't conform to that

standard, there's probably not a place for me in here then... but so be it.

Oh yah, and for the record I have nothing against the male species... most of my best friends

(on and off the internet) are male... and generally it's because they're a bit more calm than

the women I know. And I know I need some calm! lol

And now I'm done with this thread.... I've bumped it way too many times already.

I posted a couple of lol with nothing quoted and you responded with...

"You're as disturbing as she is....."

Spin it however you like, doesn't matter, it was still an insult aimed at me. I didn't say anything about you. I didn't write a sentence directed towards you. I didn't make any claim in regards to "knowing what you are about" or "knowing your kind". I totally agree that there are several herds here that try to run people in the direction they prefer. I've mentioned it myself on more than one occasion. I don't belong to any of them. Whether there's a place for you here or not is totally up to you. shrug

Regardless, whether ANYBODY realizes it or not, or chooses to notice, I don't hold grudges here. Never have. Water under the bridge, down stream and over the cliff. No big deal.
