Car Door Slammers What is up with those people who think that your car door will not close unless they try to break the windows in the process?
Cars are not un-breakable. There is a maximum force that they can take before ultimately sustaining damage.
Let's all shame them publicly! [Edited 1/17/12 15:23pm] My Legacy

My friend said last night when he gave our mutual friend a ride, that he got out of the car, slammed the door, then came back to do it again!! My Legacy

This makes me crazy. My dad was in the car business - and I had the "don't slam car doors thing" drilled into me as soon as I was old enough to close a car door. I've never owned a car that was more than three years old (ie, the doors are perfectly fine) and yet, I have friends who will slam the hell out of them. Y'know what else makes me nuts? People who slam doors in the house. I've lived in apartments and a condo for 25 years, and have dealt with door-slamming neighbors for all that time. Close the door quietly, with your hand on the knob. Dipshit. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I live with certain door slamming individuals, and if they aren't slamming, they are failing to close the doors at all what's UP with that??? a whore in sheep's clothing

I'm both extremes of this.
What usually happens is that I'm too light-handed with the door and it doesn't close properly - at which point I'm told to try again. Then I end up swinging it too hard and slamming it. 비

So when they do close them, they make up for lost time. That actually makes good clean sense! My Legacy

My dad used to yell at us to not slam his car doors (just his precious Jaguar, not anyone else's crappy car) and I thought that was a little extreme.
But now I have wanted to react the exact same way with some people. I swear my passenger door is rattling now because of this one person. My Legacy

I slam car doors if I'm in the car of someone who has just pissed me off. Sure it seems childish, but at the time when I'm angry, I just don't give a fuck. Sorry. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I hear ya.
I totally feel your pain here.
My mom slams car doors. It makes me want to strangle her.
In fact she slams everything.
Besides that she works third shift and is a very heavy smoker. So whenever she sleeps over my house or we vacation with her......
She is not only in and out the door all night (slamming it every time) to go smoke. But she has a nasty smokers cough and coughs all damned night. Slams the kitchen drawers and cupboards while making her coffee. STIRS HER COFFEE very loudly. Slams the bathroom door 16 fuckin times a night.
It makes me crazy and I'm feeling very agressive towards her just thinking/talking about it. I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies Whats it all worth only the heart can measure It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

Japanese taxis have self-opening and self-closing doors. I can't even tell you how many times I almost gave the driver a heart-attack by forgetting about this and slamming the door shut myself. They literally jumped out of their seat! And they wouldn't accept tip as an apology since you never tip anywhere in Japan. Gosh, thinking back on memories like that, I constantly felt like I was in the land of OZ or something. It was just all so very different from what I was used to.
