Can i just say PORTLANDIA! Im having one of those rare lazy only me dayzzz. Its starting to snow and ive decided im staying inside all day in my pj's.....maybe just maybe ill bursh my teeth. Otherwise i aint doing nothing but watch Portlandia and ive decided on the movie Perfect sense. If i still smoked weed id b toking as well but coffee and popcorn will have to do. BTW milkduds in your buttery salty popcorn is freakin amazing!
anyway about Portlandia. Portland, Oregon is my city. where i grew up. Amazing place to b! I heard about Portlandia but never watched it. I just figured making fun of my wacko city....whateva. I dont watch much T.V anyways, but for rare days like this.
Im channel surfing xfinity and decided to check Portlandia out. Ive watched the trailer on how it came to b and can i just say i think im diggin snl's Fred Armisen now! The trailer explans his kinda journey into where he is at now, which he began as a musician in bands. And how the show kinda grew from an amazing friendship he's had with this girl from Portland.
" u know when u meet someone and u just know you'll b friends." Fred Armian
They describe Portand as the third character in the show. Of course its a comedy and exaggeration is the key.....but its so true and came from them both totally loving the city and all that it is.
Heres some clips:

fred is a big prince fan. i've chatted to him about prince before. he asked if i had seen him on SNL doing prince, to which i told him i had, and SNL isn't broadcast in the UK but i still checked it out, and he was impressed, and he asked me what i thought of his prince impersonations to which i told him he had it spot on which he really appreciated. he's also chatted to other fans online about prince too. very nice guy, and very chamelonlike in the roles he's done | |

"Portland is where young folks go to retire!"
Very funny show. I just watched the first season in a couple days.
I have always liked Fred Armisan's absurd and bizarre humor, which makes such accurate statements about society, and yet...is very funny!
And all of these skits are better than the stupid dancing talk show he does on SNL My Legacy

I think the editing makes these things generally funnier and more consistent than SNL, where the live format works sometimes, but also can make things fall flat at other times.
This clip has the perfect pace for the subject matter. My Legacy

I like how the skits are not only continued throughout the show, but referenced by each other.
For example, when the dumpster diver was wearing that sweater that Aimee Mann had shrunk "aww!!" My Legacy
