Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse?

Anyone watching TP's new show? Any thoughts on it?

I tried watching a few shows but it is one the worse written and acted shows I've ever seen in my life.

I didn't like those characters in the movie...

My sister watched it and told me that it was terrible. lol

Damn I didn't know it started already. I've seen previews only. When does it come on?

Oh well, good looking cast I must say. I'd kiss all of them!

I LOVE Tasha Smith! she is such a fun personality love

But I saw the first episode of this crap and it has to be the worst written sitcom on television. Point. Blank. Period. EPIC FAIL. hammer

This show looks like a 2nd grade grammer school production.

It's really a shame, because Tasha Smith was hosting a women's lifestyle show on BET that worked well for her outgoing personality, and her tv talk show interviews as an actress are always fun. She's a very funny lady, and could do very well as a comedic actress if she had the right vehicle that was actually written well. But one episode into this hot boiling mess and I just couldn't disbelief

I've never seen Meet The Browns. I know one of the show's writers is Myra J., so I never imagined Browns could be that bad, but it seems like everyone here hates it lol

Still I can say that FBOW just plain sucks. The dialog is bad, the actors have no chemistry, the themes are too inappropriate for the younger characters to execute (the inaugural episode is about Tasha's tween step-daughter learning to refer to her as a ho' from her jealous, bitter mother confused )

It was an all-around bomb. There was no redeeming quality in the first episode even if they tried to end it on a happy note.

Outside of nice sets and wardrobe costuming it's just a waste. Dressing up the characters in expensive clothes and placing them in upscale looking homes & locales still doesn't keep them from being, well, let's just say they are "lacking"...

If you haven't already, watch "REED BETWEEN THE LINES" instead.

It's very cute, and both Tracee Elis Ross are producers committed to keeping the show up to a higher standard in terms of themes and dialogue. It's the closest tv has come to The Cosby Show since, well...The Cosby Show.

Honestly, I haven't seen an episode of either show...yet. That has more to do with me and my television viewing habits than it does about my personal opinion, regarding anything to do with the shows themselves. shrug

I may get around to checking them out in the next couple of weeks and I'll post my thoughts on them then. shrug

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

That too! hug But this last season was a little yawn for me. I hope the next season which starts in January is better. Dying to see if Melanie aborted Derwin's would be child back in the day. And can we get some more of Tae Heckard please? I could stare at her all day long. She remind me of Nicki Minaj only hotter. lol

True. That's what drew Ross and Warner to produce the project. BET approached them looking to help re-vamp their network brand into something more constructive, and ole Joan and Theo said, let's do this thing!

Shouldn't "longest running" be measured by time instead of episodes? Both of his shows had 2-4 new episodes on every week. Doesn't seem like as much of an achievement to me.

that era is dead. networks aren't going to pay to produce 100 epsiodes of any sitcom when they can follow some second-rate rapper or groupie ho around instead.

I've watched and honestly i haven't been impressed. They have such a talented cast too.

I would watch anyway primarily for Melissa DeSousa. lol

I actually enjoy Love That Girl more than i do this one.

I like Are We There Yet too.

I watched a couple of episodes but I didn't really dig it either. The only one that holds my attention is The Game.

I still haven't see For Better Or Worse but I'm not expecting much.

I know somebody has to be watching them, but his TV shows are fucking awful. I've tried to watch them, but I just can't. Bad acting, bad writing, just plain bad. And don't get me started on that Read Between The Lines shit. It's just as bad. Black sitcoms..hell sitcoms in general just aren't what they used to be. Girlfriends was my shit though! LOVED that show! Living Single is one of my favorite shows of all time, pure greatness. The Game needs to hurry up and come back on though, I'm also curious about Mel's abortion.. hmmm

I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with FBOW. I think I lot of you hit the nail on the head when you referred to the acting.

I would go as far as to say the casting is just plain horrible. Especially the girl who's dating Marcus' co-worker. She is a beautiful woman, but is not cut out for acting. She has NO depth and is just a horrible actress.

I would also say the same thing for the interns on the show. The guy working at the sports station is just plain annoying.

They also don't pay much attention to detail on the show. Why does Tasha's character own a salon with no stylists? She would have to charge a hell of a lot of money per head to make ends meet. lol

Don't bother. Poorly written and poorly produced.
