Sunday is but another day of the week, therefore Sunday school would have no more meaning than Monday school.

Can I run Monday School as well then? wave

Ten Commandments of the 7th days Atheists (proposed)

Note : Do not observe thes commandments before they are reviewed and approved by our Leader.

1. Thou shall not believe in God.

2. Thou shall not believe in Satan.

3. Thou shall honor Sartre and Camus.

4. Thou shall kill nothing but time (except for dinner) .

5. Thou shall watch Bergman's God trilogy yearly.

6. Thou shall be friendly but firm with believers.

7. Thou shall not pray, only hope.

8. Thou shall not covet some spiritual security blanket.

9. Thou shall not swear using religious vernacular.

10. Thou shall behave ethically most of of the time.

I like the guidelines, but I hate commandments... we should modify them to be suggestions, as my religion is to be based out of free thought and independence. You can even believe in the christian god if you wish, as long as you do not adhere to the dogma associated with the religion.

They are for you to amend as you see fit. We need a sound doctrine.

Oh, no... nothing like the others...

I intend to work from a foundation of personal responsibility and free choice. No commandments... no punishments... no rewards... no dogma.

The only sin is not being true to yourself/engaging in herd mentality.

Not really... the vast majority of people are content to follow and I would encourage others NOT to follow unless they really believe in what they are following.

The use of the word "no" in relation to saying "no rewards, no punishment, etc." is not against what I would like to achieve, as I am not giving a command against something but am rather saying that there will be no promises of rewards, punishments or anything else.

You are your own god, as I am my own god... in a universe devoid of a creator, we are solely responsible for our own actions and therefore, we are our own gods.

So... if you want chicken, be the master of your own destiny and purchase a quantity that is pleasing to you.

Certainly not, but I would encourage all members to engage in any consensual sexual act that they desire with any partner that is of a legal age.

If you want to follow the herd and not think for yourself, you are not a very good candidate for the church. One of the ideas of my church will be to promote free thought and individuality.

If you want rewards and punishments, you would find that my ideology would not be a good fit for you, as I will stress personal responsibility and the importance of ethics in a universe without a divine judge.
