A car like this should be sophisticated. This design anything but sophisticated. I see it as a bad mixture of the worst of late 70's early 80's design.

It's a concept. There's plenty of time for tweeking before it hits production.

All I see is sometime in the hopefully not too distant future...that Cadillac in the prettiest shade of pearl pink with a cream interior and me dressed to the nines with a bad ass pair of haterblockers on in the driver's seat. biggrin

...and I think that it's done purposely to evoke th espirit of those "grand Cadillacs of old".

As a kid in the 70's, I remember drawing cars as "boxes". Rounded, curvy cars were "old" and sharp, angular, boxy cars were "futuristic".

This Caddy may work. It's hard to tell because sometimes a concept may look fantastic on paper and in the showroom, but on the street doesn't work. And vice-versa.

shrug

If I get a few novels published and move to the North Shore (of L.I.)...I'd drive one of these bad boys....as I smoke a Cuban cigar...in a tweed sportcoat...with a young Russian girlfriend in the passeger seat.

nod The designers are pulling from the Bentley designs. The elongated engine and smaller windshield provokes a 40's feel of the larger Caddy's.

I LOVE those cars from the 40's. That design would work with suicide doors and set high off the street. There is something special about steeping UP into a car... and if its a smooth ride then it will pull off the same effect a RR would.

sexy It needs to be elevated a bit higher off the ground.

I agree about the height...but only if they keep the body panels low to the ground.

Don't want it to look like it needs whitewall tires now... wink

Naw... the higher elevation would only serve a greater need to place larger rims for the tires... and who doesn't like larger rims? The nostalgia in me likes the white rims... but chrome is always better.

Buy a private island

Scott Island: A perfect g....7 million

scottisland[1]

scottisland[2]

scottisland[3]

Are you one of those people who love splurging on private islands? If yes, then I have the just the piece of news for you!

Just three miles across the Stuart Channel from the Vancouver Island town of Chemainus, Scott Island is a tree-covered, 5.26-acre gem, easily accessible by boat, floatplane, or helicopter. The main feature of this Island is a modern, 4,541-square foot, bi-level home with five bedrooms and six bathrooms, an octagonal great room/entertainment area, an open and airy kitchen/dining/family room, and a separate living room with a brick fireplace.

Attached is a 1,644-square foot, self-contained caretaker’s wing with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both the main residence and caretaker’s section have large wrap-around decks and all upstairs bedrooms have balconies. Best of all, most rooms have southwest views for taking in the awesome sunsets over Vancouver Island and the Pacific beyond.

And in those cases when you need a break from your lavish home, you can play on the island’s full-size tennis court, or go hiking and bird watching or enjoy some water activities like kayaking, swimming, diving, fishing, and crabbing in the waters offshore. And did I miss telling you that there is also a large and protected all-weather and all-tide harbor!

FYI: The island is being offered fully furnished for $4,726,800.

Yeah, they probably want to keep it "exclusive". I bet the technology isn't all that complicated though, and the parts can't be too expensive either so if they mass-produced it and got the price down, I think it would be a huge hit!
