I'm going nuts here. I went blonde because it's so much easier to maintain...but I'm starting to really hate it. I think it's washing me out and aging me (even more ).
Blonde?
Or brunette?

i'm too lazy to even curl my hair each day, let alone color it and keep the color from showing... i'd say go natural. but, i see others have said the 'natural beauty is best' thing, so i won't add to that.
flip a coin. next time you're picking out a color just go with whatever look you like best at that moment. if you really want a pick between blonde and brunette, i'd say switch to brunette, for a while. see if you like it. have fun!
Ummmm...coloring your hair is a lot less labor intensive than curling it. Haircolor takes an hour every 4 to 6 weeks, versus an hour every day.
it's still more effort.

But this is what's natural for our age though! Most of my friends have a bit of grey or white here and there. It's not weird or bad. At least you don't have to worry about bald spots like us men.
I do think most dyed hair looks dyed. There's something about how it doesn't quite rhyme with the colours of the complexion and eyes, but also it's too perfectly in just one colour. Real hair usually shifts a little bit here and there, and it's hard to simulate that by adding streaks.
My hair is always multi-tonal because of the white hair. It does not go a flat colour...no matter hard I would try. I have been going white since I was 21.
in my book, that's ok...it works for emmylou harris quite well....

So with the lowlights (down right!) I should actually be closer to this colour to start. A bit more natural.

Brunette, most definitely. If you're going to stay blonde, I would pick a darker blonde, more golden. Something more natural looking although I understand the lower maintenance of going lighter since I got the white hair myself. Shake it til ya make it |

You look hot either way, but I personally liked the dark brown hair more. I also liked the red hair on you, but I remember you saying that even though you loved the red look, it was a pain in the ass to maintain.

Why not a slightly warmer blonde? An apricot, sand or slight gold tone in the blonde will make it less likely to wash you out than the white blonde and isn't any huge upkeep if your hair is naturally fair. Everything old is new again... |

Agreed. Your hottest as a brunette, but you would look hot in a darker blond or brunette with blond in it. My only question is; does the carpet match the drapes? 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |

Well, I did a sample strand this morning and 1) I hate the colour- it looks like light mud and 2) balayage I can do with no problem, having to do a reverse balayage on my own scares the shit outta me.
So, for the first time ever I am going to grit my teeth and put my faith in the best salon in town I can find.

I hate it (the lighter hair). I have never liked your hair blond. It feels forced and cliché, which you are not. As a brunette you give me vixen... danger.. excitement!

It's ok.
As I said, I went blonde out of frustration from my white roots which literally show up within two weeks. I was born with natural blonde and will die with natural white.
I have spent most of my life dying my hair many, many shades darker than it is naturally. |
